Best Indian food we've had on the West Coast. Chicken Masala was a little on the salty side, but still edible. Peanut chicken, butter chicken, and salads/pickled sides are delicious! Very generous portions, and great service.
I love their food! I have been there over 5 times and drive from outer east Portland to get there if I have time to visit the mall and eat.I had chicken vindaloo and tikka masala. The veg samosa are good too, with spiced mashed filling of potatoes etc. Their chicken is always great quality. The two entree with included rice and side of mashed potato salad could feed 2 to 3 people. They have better spices and stronger heat than 3 restaurants in inner SE Portland.
Consistently delicious Indian food. Wonderful flavors. Good price. Generous portions; always get 1/2 to go as leftover. Just as good reheated. Polite staff offering plenty of tastes until you find just what you want. We have eaten here many times. For us, this is a destination resteraunt even though it is in Wa Square foodcourt.
4.5 Stars. One of my favorite lunch spots. Always leave full and happy. Great selection of Indian dishes that allows me to mix up my choices. The food is great for a food court Indian restaurant, sure it's not made to order but I can eat and get moving quick. My only gripe is paying extra for naan.
We order chole bhature and masala dosa.We got uncooked puri instead of bhatura. Chole was okay. Masala dosa is good.Taste ? okayPrice ? reasonableQuantity ? goodAmbiance- ? (inside Washington square mall)Service ?okay
Wow, was very pleasantly surprised. Ordering online was easy, and packaged very well. Amount of food you get for your money is incredible. Most Indian restaurants give you half or maybe 2/3 the food. Quality is right on par with any Indian restaurant I've been to. Very flavorful and delicious. Also the owner was very nice and gave my girlfriend a mango drink which she loved. You have made a return customer and definitely advise people to give it a try.
AN HONEST REVIEW:This place made me addicted to Indian food. I’ve come here so many times and each time, was always a great one.Customer Service: THEY ARE SO NICE!!! The owner (I think he is the owner!) but the owner is REALLY NICE! He wants you to try the food before you buy it. If you’re shy, that’s okay. He sees you eyeing it and he will hand you a small spoon with the food to try! He’s a very nice person to everyone! The employees there are fluent in English and understand me really well! This is appreciated because I really love trying new foods and the people there are really nice and WANT you to try something new and discover how delicious their food is!Pricing: Very fair!!! They PACK THE PLATE WITH FOOD! So the price to me is very fair!Food: DELICIOUS!!! I wish I tried Indian food sooner!!! There is a whole new world of tasty food you don’t know you’re missing out on!!! I come here so much, they remember me! I tip a lot every time I come here! I want this place to stay open forever. If they ever open a big restaurant in the future, that would make my heart so happy. But I will accept their little restaurant inside of the Washington mall for now.I encourage you dear reader, try this place. You will not regret it. Approach this place with a smile and kindness. This place is run by genuine sweet people who make delicious food.
The 1st thing the gentleman asked me was if I had ever eaten here before. When I said I had not he offered me samples of each dish. He said, "Try it first. If you don't like it no harm done." It was a trick. Almost every sample was delectable. I finally settled for the 2 entree combo. The butter chicken & the Tikka Masada both melted in my mouth. The meal came with choice of saffron rice, lemon rice or 1/2 & 1/2 plus 2 salads. I chose both rices although I didn't notice much difference in either one ... probably because my taste buds were busy basking in the flavor of the chicken dishes. I chose the potato salad and the onion salad. I'm from Texas so I have high potato salad expectations. ? This was definitely a whole different style of potato salad. The onion salad was more of what I'd call a pickled onion back home. One last thing ... you get a lot of food! I think my plate weighed 10 lbs. The quality and flavor are quite shocking for a mall food court restaurant. Definitely a place to try and try again!
Wow. Please ignore the fact that this lovely spot is in a mall food court — this is sit-down-restaurant-quality, carefully-prepared, delicious, reasonably priced, truly excellent food. I don’t go to Washington square too often so I happily spent $80 here and took a massive bag of food home with me. The pickup order was wrapped so well, absolutely nothing spilled or leaked — they were extremely careful! The people working here are thoughtful and friendly.I particularly recommend the palak (or I think here on the menu it’s saag?) paneer. It’s one of my favorite dishes and they did it beautifully. I hope to come back here many more times!
This place is so delicious! And the service is great they give a lot of samples if your new and the food has such an amazing flavor! My daughter loves this place and whenever we go to the mall we always go here!
