We stopped at this restaurant on our way to live music and it was absolutely delightful. The service was very personable, and the food was delicious. We ordered the veggie combo (highly recommend), the doro wat, and the tibs. Each one of those was the favorite for a different person in our group. I highly recommend stopping in.
Our favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Portland! We typically get a combo plate and occasionally just order randomly from the menu. Every time it has been delicious!
Our waitress was very friendly and our food was amazing. We ordered the veggy sampler for 4 and everyone loved it!
They took 15 minutes to get the order from us and around 30 minutes to get the food out, which was crazy. The lamb tibs were ok, had better ones in other Ethiopian restaurants. The injera was not warm. The vegetarian combo was good. Very little quantity though for the money. Again, I’ve had better Ethiopian food.
Went here after seeing this "underrated amazing place" in an article of top restaurants in Alberta. Having been to an Ethiopian restaurant before, I was expecting a bit of a wait due to the culture, freshly made injera, etc. But I did not expect to wait 50 minutes for my food to be served. I don't think I'll be coming here again.
Great food, great service. Bole made my Portland visit worth it. Highly recommend this place.
The vegetarian platter at Bole is one of my go-to to-go orders. Every dish is so good and usually lasts me two meals.
Such good Ethiopian, took my wife here for her birthday and we were not disappointed, got the vegetarian sampler and the lamb and it was all extremely tasty... We will definitely be coming back...didn't take any photos unfortunately, too delicious to wait and snap a pic

Awesome local Ethiopian joint - small, cheerful, and delicious food. Every time I go, I love the food.This is a tiny place and they don't have a lot of staff, so be patient with the service. But the food is amazing.
