Food was outstanding. Great flavor, portions were large. Service was superb. Great ambiance.
The food was delicious. The wait staff was courteous and helpful in making a dinner decision. The strawberry salad was excellent along with a well made pizza and flavorful pork chop. Very close to the hotel we were staying at, so we were able to stretch our legs for a ten minute walk. We would definitely visit again!
Bistro 23 makes little sense to a local when thinking about its location but it makes all the sense in the world to someone who flew to Portland who is looking for quality food near the airport, or near their airport hotel, or on the way to the airport. Thankfully this local lives nearby and the food here has been great on every trip. The burrata, the pizzas, the potatoes, the drink menu, etc. The food is shockingly good, the staff incredibly friendly, and the indoor and outdoor seating spaces are ample and comfortable. It’s a bonus to sit on the patio and watch planes land. If this restaurant was closer in to the city it would probably do amazing but I’m also very content to have it stay right where it is just a few minutes from my house. Think of it as a well kept secret and then come try it and tell all of your friends.
A friend recommended this restaurant and am I glad she did! My hubby and I stopped in for lunch. The pizza was not only delicious but reasonably priced. They offer a nice selection of drafts as well.
Fantastic experience. Stopped in for the first time with only about an hour to eat, and was able to be in-and-out within 45 minutes and not feeling rushed. Service was fantastic, food was amazing, and the atmosphere was exactly what I wanted.
The Bistro 23 is located just down the road from our hotel. We wanted something quick for dinner, and this was the perfect spot! You order first, pay, and they bring the food out. Got the bistro burger: grass fed beef, organic cheddar, lettuce, onion, pickles, Russian dressing, potato bun. Also 1/2 Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Two great meals for under $25. Very friendly service. Would definitely go again when in the airport area.
To say the food was amazing would be doing it an injustice. The experience started when we got our food to go and the intoxicating aroma filled our vehicle. My wife placed her whole head in the bag and inhaled because she could not resist wanting to be fully enveloped in the smells. Now most to go food can look a little displeasing as it's not how its meant to be displayed but it was not the case here. My chicken parm sandwich was massive, and beautiful. My wife's chicken was a piece of art. I could wait no longer. It was love at first bite. I barely stopped to breathe not wanting to have a moment without the flavors in my mouth any longer than I had to. Upon finishing my meal I sat covered in marinara and cheese breathing heavily, as I had just went on a flavor journey. My taste buds and I had gone to another plane of existence. I savored the last bits of flavor as I realized it was all gone. Sadly this moment in time had to come to an end. This was an experience that I shall cherish for years to come. My children will know of this place and I will never stop ensuring everyone I can find ventures to this holy grail of food.
I met my husband and daughter for lunch because they work in the area. We were looking for a sit down place and this place was recommended. You walk in and order - then find a seat - it was crowded & loud but it was also Friday at noon. Limited drink options but a number of different types to choose from. We ordered food and sat down. Food arrived after a wait (again not surprising because it was busy). My choice - chicken Parmesan sandwich with chips was proportionate - I loved the red sauce. My husband pick the “Ham & Avo” sandwich with chips (I didn’t try because I’m not a fan of avocado) & my daughter got the brick chicken. Presentation was spot on and I was dying to get a bite of those potatoes but when I did - I was disappointed as they were cold. The chicken it self - which was piping hot - had great flavor. Overall it’s a very chic place in an area you wouldn’t expect. Give it a try
I went to this spot because a close friend recommended it. Did not disappoint! The pizza was bomb, the chicken Parmesan sandwich was the best I ever had. The building was nice, and had a warm, calm vibe. ImGood service, great food. I wish I could have tried more of the menu, but it was a one time stop while visiting Oregon. I’ll definitely be back!
Honestly I was expecting a boneless pork chop and wasn't disappointed whatsoever. The sweet glaze on the pork literally made my mouth water like this Portland rain. The brussel sprouts were seared PERFECTLY and paired very well with the pork. I also ordered a side of potatoes expecting some red potatoes baked in an oven but I got this delicious baked potato that was mashed then seared on a flattop and it's honestly my favorite way to eat a potato now. The Margherita pizza was fresh and crispy exactly how I like it. I could've had a little more mozzarella but that's the only complaint. I'm from Orange County CA and this food is really up to par with places in Southern California, New York & San Francisco. My compliments to the chef and staff at Bistro 23.
