Great selection, my Asian crepe sandwich was delicious, and unlike a previous reviewer's experience, the service was very fast. I'll definitely be returning.
I’ve waited so long to find GOOD bing! I’m based in Minneapolis and no one makes it! I’ve had jianbing in San Francisco and it wasn’t very good. THIS…was great! Tasted just like I remembered from Shanghai!Staff was friendly and it’s made fast :)Their cart is located at the very end on the left!
I’ve not had good jian bing since I lived in China years ago. Despite the high price, the wrap was authentically made with each ingredient serving its purpose in a wonderfully upscale tribute to the snacks we used to eat in Beijing for less than a dollar. We tried the duck and the standard jian bing. The sauce and crispy wonton wrapper did not disappoint at all. Happy to come back here next time we’re passing through PDX.
Absolutely delicious. I enjoy the classic Bing Mi with Chinese sausage. The flavors are out of this world, the texture is incredible and the serving size is perfect.Parking can be a little difficult in the neighborhood. There is a decent amount of outdoor seating.*they have added more outdoor seating with heaters!
Checking out the PDX food truck scene and came across this gem. Grabbed the duck loaded crepe and didn’t regret a thing. Great for a simple snack - but heavy, but definitely worth the visit.Ask about the spice level. Thank me later.
These Chinese crepes are unique and fantastic. They have several options now ranging in price from $8-$13 generally. They have a spice scale from 1 to 5 and I went with a 3 on both crepes. 3/5 spice was perfect for me with a little kick but not one that increases as I kept eating. Portion sizes are generous with a basic crepe being a typical meal size and around $8 price. There are also some drink options and they appear to have 1 or 2 seasonal or rotating meat options. Definitely plan for a wait of up to 30-45 minutes if you go during peak meal times, especially on a Friday or Saturday. I will be returning here as soon as I possibly can, easily 5 stars.
The crepes are AMAZING. Definitely some of the best Chinese food I’ve had outside of China itself. The cooks are super fast and have always been super nice to us. Be sure to order double egg ;) it will soon become an addiction !
I got the classic and it was perfect. A perfect combination of textures and flavors and portions. I will be back soon!
A Northern Chinese street food, the jianbing at Bing Mi are Chinese savory crepes filled with a choice of meat and/or tofu, scrambled egg, zhacai (which is pickled mustard tuber), wonton crackers, green onions, cilantro, and "bing sauce." They can be made with varying levels of spice. On three separate visits, I had the Roasted Duck Loaded Jianbing, the Chinese Sausage Loaded Jianbing, and the Bacon Loaded Jianbing (each pictured). The "loaded" versions have extra scrambled egg and extra wonton crackers, which I feel was an excellent choice, each time. The savory crepes were soft, and very lightly sweet, the zhacai was zesty and maybe a bit spicy, but refreshing, the bing sauce was lightly sweet, but mostly savory, and the crispy, lightly crunchy wonton crackers added a fantastic texture to the experience. I absolutely loved it!They were served piping hot, and held their heat, surprisingly well. I opted for medium spicy (3 of 5 stars) on each, which was great, but I may bump it up to 4 stars, next time.I definitely preferred the Roasted Loaded Duck Jianbing, of the three, but I was very happy with each experience. This is a beautiful, interesting, warm and filling handheld food, that I highly recommend! I will definitely visit this cart again, and probably fairly regularly, as the Nob Hill food carts are conveniently located. If you like my photographs, feel free to follow my tiny, little foodie Instagram: jonathan.grubb, for more (casual, and almost exclusively small / local) greater-Portland-area foodventures!
Jianbing tastes really great, with the crunchy crackers, exactly what I was expecting.
