I enjoyed the Big Dirty! Great, flavorful and filling dish. And I loved the banana pudding! I’m visiting from California and will be back next time to try a burger. They looked wonderful and my friends said they were really good!
Oh my! The BEST fried chicken I have had in my entire life!! The coleslaw was delicious - and that is coming from someone who usually doesn't like coleslaw. The sauces were amazing! The staff were very kind and friendly. The ambiance was fun with lots of old relics on the walls. Prices were reasonable. We will totally be back - soon! Incredible!
I would like to say that I have been to this establishment twice. Both times it was very enjoyable and some of the best chicken I have ever had. I would highly recommend that you go and try it, very clean, friendly staff, definitely some of the best chicken I've ever had and I lived in Georgia for 35 years the South knows how to make fried chicken . Lol so do yourself a favor go by and try it delicious. Oh and don't forget to try the deep fried mac and cheese bites???
Cool atmosphere and great food! Lots of menu items so something for everyone, Beer is available fine in and to-go. Wings were nice and tender and juicy! Chicken sandwich was spicy and definitely flavorful. Jo-Jo potatoes were the bomb as well. They have lots of different sauces to go with everything. Would definitely come back next time we visit p-town.
Have been back and forth daily to Providence Portland Medical Center for the past 3 weeks. Decided to give this place a try as I was tired of all the "ethnic" food and food truck fare. 1st time I had the Jerk chicken sandwich.This was a delicious blend of pretty spicy jerk sauce balanced by pineapple and I believe Cole slaw. Definitely on the spicy side as my tongue and mouth had that tingling reaction for a good 15 minutes even after trying to cool It down with some fatty candy bar. Went in a few days later and had the chicken thighs. The overnight marinade of the fresno peppers was a win as it was just the right amount of heat. When I looked at it I thought they were going to be dry and boy was I mistaken. Cooked to perfection and totally moist. Tonight my daughter ordered the chicken wings. She normally doesn't even like chicken and these were fantastic. She wasn't expecting a dry rub and thought exactly that, that they would be dry. The smoke flavor combined with a perfect fry made these wings amongst the best I've ever had. The take home is don't miss out on this chicken joint. You'll be sorry if you do.
I'm someone that's a spice wuss, and I got BURNED at Big's today. Whatever sauce they put on their jerk sandwich was enough to make my nose run, my eyes water, my mouth to burn, my ability to taste got demolished, and me to drink 64 oz of tea after one bite! I had to de-construct my huge sandwich (it was so large you couldn't fit it in your mouth fully assembled) & scrape off the hot sauce from what I could & avoid the parts of the sandwich too saturated in the sauce. I ended up eating only about half of the contents of the sandwich. The black eyed peas I chose as a side were swimming in oil. It's enough to do one of those Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmare style dramatic oil pour outs! (meaning excessive amounts of oil) The non-alcoholic drink offerings were just very usual fountain sodas, and they forgot my pickles that I ordered with my sandwich. :( I think, from what I could still taste, that the flavors are quite good, but from a self-proclaimed spice-wuss, this meal was far too painful to enjoy.
Best bite of fried chicken thighs in Portland! They even have vegan options. Chef Ben, won CHOPPED! No wonder everything else on the menu is delicious and definitely worth trying at least once.

Excellent chicken. Period. Ordered the deep fried thighs to go. Probably the best fried chicken I have eaten. Meat was fresh and juicy. The fried seasoning was southern spicy. You won't forget it. Have plenty to drink to go with it. They are close to the Providence Medical Center. Big's will be a new go to favorite take out for me along with Chin's Kitchen, Shandong's, Dove Vivi and Killer Burger
Had an amazing lunch in my son's birthday - will be back. Service was friendly and prompt, everyone enjoyed their food. We had wings, thighs, jojo's & a Sammy and we all were full, happy and had some leftovers.
