Tiny (5 tables), cute (napkin art on the wall) breakfast/bunch places in Sellwood that required proof of vaccination for indoor dining. Food came out super-fast, waiter could double as a stand up comic, and coffee was a 6.5 (according to my partner). Food was plentiful, with lots of fresh vegetables, satisfying both this picky eater and my partner.
In the City of Brunch, divey breakfast diners are sorely lacking. Bertie Lou’s has a no-frills charm that’s only outmatched by their fantastic breakfast. My friends and I were playing hot potato with each others’ plates because we couldn’t decide which one was our favorite.
Awesome breakfast, atmosphere, and server - is as humorous as the menu. Loved the bacon, chevre, and avocado omlette, potatoes i ordered extra crispy, yum. Boyfriend had Woodsman Benedict, which is traditional eggs Benedict on halt, and the other has gravy on top. He felt gravy was a little sweet, however, i loved it and i don't prefer sweet. Go there and you will love your breakfast.
Came across these old pictures that I took a while back, so thought I would write a little review. I have only been here a couple times, but their breakfast and brunch foods are awesome (no doubt)! Simple, no frills, and very tasty! Not to mention that I love the old, unique, classic American feel that this place has… It feels like you are stepping back in time, and it is very charming! I also loved the decor and the friendly service here.

Best breakfast in the Portland Metro. Large servings, fast service and no nonsense, super awesome staff. Been eating here for almost 8 years and haven't found a better spot!
Just a delightful little place to remember classic western breakfast when needing a break from everyone's new version (those aren't bad, but this place let's one remember yesterday)
I love these guys. Just had the most wonderful experience as a patron. The server was friendly and right to the point and service was fast! I got the croissant French toast which was amazing and inhaled it all down. I felt my spirits lifted from the great atmosphere, great hosting/serving, and food as well!
Food was absolutely amazing!People were super friendly!Got the wavos Rancheros special and it must have weighed 5# and every bit of it was delicious.My wife had a scramble said it was one of the best she's had.The place is tiny and we had to get food to go because of the covid restrictions, not a fault just a heads up.Eat here and I would say it's worth a day trip drive just for them.
Awesome place! Great food, great service, our server was super funny. This place is definitely my new breakfast spot.
