This place was fantastic! One hard working woman owns and runs this place, and does one table at a time so there was a 15 minute wait to order but we were sat at a table with drinks. We were happy to sit and chat and wait our turn. The food was absolutely delicious, much of it was hand made. I cannot wait to come back my husband and I very much enjoyed our first hot pot experience.
It is not authentic Beijing copper Hotpot. Only using the copper hotpot vessel to attract attention but it’s actually cooked on gas stoves, not the authentic charcoal in the center of the pot. The pot looks quite dirty and gross too with some black stuff on the copper. If you are not using the pot as how it’s supposed to be used, might as well get modern ones that are easier to clean and has bigger space for cooking. Food is good and price is welcoming.
Googled best hot pot in Portland and this was the first place that popped up. She was in there by herself hosting, serving, and cooking, and it was the best food I’ve ever had. Me and my husband got the combination for 2 and added shrimp balls and 12 dumplings. It came with a whole bunch of different noodles veggies and meat, 2 different soup bases, and sauces. It was phenomenal. We paid just under $50 for the whole meal and she was literally the only one working it was incredible and she always deserves 5 stars
Beijing Hot Pot is the best! The food is amazing and the service is wonderful. This is my favorite restaurant in the entire city. I go often and it's always always awesome.
This was an amazing experience. Came here with a few friends, got the spicy and vegetable broth. Both were fantastic, spicier than anticipated but delicious nonetheless, not to mention the food, oh my goodness. The prime rib melts in your mouth, the potatoes are deliciously fresh, the bokchoy is fantastic, and the dumplings are out of this world, so so good. I highly recommend
I called this place and it said it’s open but get there with lights off. It’s not easy to find Beijing Hot Pot from the street at night so getting there with no lights was frustrating!Update: Thank you for responding! Next time please put a notice outside the door so that people know the situation.
This place is run by a very hardworking woman! (I think it's just her at most times) Everytime I come the food always has such great quality and is consistent. If you aren't familiar with asian culture you might think her hospitality and the interior is off putting but that's just how authentic this restaurant is. I can't believe some of the other bad reviews on here, I have never had a bad encounter here and I am a returning customer. She is very friendly and has lots of returning customers that she is on first name bases with. I like to get the half spicy and half nourishing broth with all my favorite veggies and rib eye beef in my hot pot. That with a nice cup of hot tea, WOW just warms the soul. When you come here please please get the handmade noodles and dumplings, it'll change your life ?
Such a great experience. Awesome food, great service. The tea was great, the shrimp fish ball was amazing. Everything else was good. I definitely will visit here again.
Not what it used to be, I visited this location 4 years ago, and I had a very good experience. This time visiting Portland, I missed the traditional copper pot that is unique to Beijing Hot Pot. The restaurant was much older, the tables were a bit cracked from the heat, and they were understaffed (I think only the owner was running the place). Owner was very friendly to other tables with more patrons (also of a different race, I'm Asian!) but very short with us even before we sat down. It was only until after they left and we were the last few tables did she pay a bit more attention to us. I also understand that with COVID-19 there's supply chain issues, but we were not told that some of the listed items in the selected options (enoki/golden needle mushroom) would not be available. At least give us some heads up. Broth was also so so, noodles were soft (good) and meat was fresh. Given other options, I probably won't return in the future. Hope things turn for the better with more staffing and proper attitude towards all customers. Unfortunate because I was a fan of this place and shared it with many.
The best hot pot in town! Keep in mind it's a small family business so there may be a short wait but the food and friendly service make up for it! Order guilt-free from a prefix menu for two or a la carte menu considering of nutrient dense meat, veggies, and noodles. Broths are refilled complimentary. We enjoy every meal here and always leave happy!
