Without a doubt it is one of the best sushi restaurants in Portland, Delicious ♥️keep in mind that they open from 4:00 pm
I definitely recommend making a reservation prior to coming in on a holiday weekend. We walked in without a reservation at 7pm and were seated by 7:40pm. We got to watch the orders be made fresh. We tried: CHASING THE DRAGON, FRIDAY THE 13TH, OCEAN FARMER, RAINBOW ROLL, and of course the MISO SOUP. The only thing I did not like was the ground texture of the salmon in the FRIDAY THE 13TH(it is prepared this way to get the spices in). Parking can be a bit difficult. It is street parking only. Everyone was so friendly. We will come back.
Bamboo Sushi is one of our favs! We got to partake in some happy hour items which were delicious. The rice on the happy hour avocado roll is a little chewy. Otherwise, food and service was fantastic!
We love this restaurant since it opened years ago. The menu has changed over the years and we've lost and gained some favorite items. This new menu after the pandemic closing has left us full and wanting more. The new roll with tempura fried shoshito peppers and avocado is so delicious and highly recommended. The runs poke' is back with full flavor. My favorite hoki poke box is back yummy as ever. We also had the edemame and toasted cauliflower. The shoshito pepper plate. The new spicy ginger tofu which was so yummy full of flavorAnd we will be back again and again
We stuffed ourselves with delicious sushi and sampled the happy hour options, an amazing deal for the quality of the sushi!
disappointed in the service- they got our order wrong on takeout and we didn't realized until sitting down to eat at home. my partner ended up with tofu instead of chicken on his bowl, and we usually like tofu but this had poor flavor and texture. my veggie sushi rolls were good though!
I have been so disappointed with Bamboo lately. I used to love coming here, but lately it has been disappointment after disappointment. Tonight we went in and I ordered a very simple roll- cucumber and avocado with salmon roe on top. The server didn’t want to place the order as a cucumber roll + avocado for whatever reason and told me to order a veggie roll and it was the same thing. Of course it comes out and it’s not the same thing and I send it back. I wait an entire hour and the rest of my party eats and the server finally comes back to tell me that they are out of half of the ingredients for the roll, so I was just sitting waiting for no reason. At no point did she come back to ask me if there was something else I wanted. Instead I just sat there until 9 PM when she informed me that a roll with half of what I ordered would be coming shortly. A waste of an evening is an understatement, I sat for an hour and left without eating. Just go get sushi somewhere less overrated where they will actually feed you.
After coming to Bamboo Sushi, I’m not sure I can go anywhere else for my sushi fix. Sustainability when it comes to the ocean is so important and Bamboo definitely pays attention to that which I really love. I seriously dream about the green machine and the sauce that is served with it. More than a few time I’ve actually bought just that because it’s so good. I haven’t eaten inside since the pandemic but before the service was always so great. Hope to come in soon for the happy hour!
I told these guys it was my second favorite sushi place in the country. Then they went out of their way to make it number one fore me. GREAT PLACE
Great food, atmosphere and friendly service. Unique rolls, wonderful flavors. The Spicy Tuna “Crispy Rice” was fantastic… well done Bamboo Sushi!
