We used Bamboo Sushi catering for our wedding this past weekend. If you have an upcoming event, I cannot recommend their catering enough. We worked with Falon who helped us narrow down a good variety of rolls, appetizers and nigiri. She was super responsive to questions, allergy accommodations, and explaining how general flow with setup and the servers would go. Falon worked really closely with our venue coordinator at Function PDX on drop off, setup, service and cleanup so we didn't have to worry about a thing. When we ended up adding in a couple burgers the week prior to our wedding for guests that didn't like sushi she made sure those were delivered after the buffet setup to ensure they were still fresh at dinner. Falon popped by during our event to make sure everything went smoothly and we had a Bamboo sushi chef onsite to answer any questions guests had. It was definitely a huge hit and multiple guests commented it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding.

The Friday the 13th was our favorite rolls Yum super good.

My first ever sushi. I was neglecting sushi because I was thinking it would taste fishy but it wasn’t its less fish and more rice. Their soy sauce is much stronger and tastes better with the pickled ginger. First sushi done ??

Ordered the rainbow and spicy tuna roles. They were both average. This place is good for sustainable fish but not if you're looking for great sushi. If you order to go to eat outdoors, make sure you ask for extra soy as they won't give you much.

Good, but not a ton better than a more affordable sushi place right around the corner.King salmon nigiri - $9 for two pieces. This one was very good.California roll - Junior said it was good, but the other place has fish eggs on the outside of the CA rolls.Spicy tuna - nothing too exciting. All in all, not appreciably better enough to justify the more expensive price.4.5 stars

Incredibly overrated sushi place. It was my first time going and maybe they had an off night because of the impending snow, but all the food was unremarkable. Everything seemed dull and uninspiring. We ordered a wagyu burger, circle of life roll, and green machine roll (not pictured) Fortunately we got the aiolis on the side because they were pretty bad; this is coming from an aioli fiend. The onion rings were soggy, not fully cooked, and only came with two. The pricing wasn’t bad but still not worth the quality.

The cauliflower was fantastic. The chicken karaage was very good: more meaty. We squeezed a couple extra lemons onto the chicken and enjoyed that. The spicy salmon and spicy something sushi was good. I think what made the sushi stand out is knowing it’s coming from sustainable sources, which is not something most sushi restaurants consider. We got here during happy hour and the whole thing was very affordable and delicious. Best sushi place I’ve been to in Portland.

The sushi was very vanilla and had singular defining characteristics. Either the sushi was spicy, mushy, or dry. The service and atmosphere was amazing, however, the food was just okay.

Very nice ambiance. Excellent sushi. The bowls are generous and delicious. The tofu bowl was a bit charred IMO. Didn’t like it. But the others were great.

Make sure you make a reservation! It’s so worth it. To start off we got a round of sake sangrias and a Shogun Shotgun. Both were amazing, can’t wait to try their other cocktails. For food we got a Friday the 13th roll, the Chasing the Dragon Roll, a spicy salmon roll, some steelhead nigiri with a mango sauce, and a shishito peppers small plate. The peppers are to die for, order immediately. The mango sauce on the steelhead nigiri was kind of overpowering. I would skip it next time. We loved Chasing the Dragon but Friday the 13th was a little too big for the average mouth. Still an amazing place to go. Stop by if you can.
