The atmosphere is amazing to be surrounded by bamboo and smell the grill in the back. Highly recommend. We will be back!!We went for Happy Hour and everything we got was amazing. The drinks and the food. We had the squash salad and burger and they were both wonderful. Service was a little slow but the servers were still polite, just not as available after the food was delivered for questions as I would have liked. It was busy so this may not be regular, and I still gave 5 stars because it was not a negative experience.
This place is a gem. Just a lovely atmosphere in the patio and kind, attentive service. Great spot.
The BEST RESTAURANT IN PORTLAND OREGON. Owned and run by two AWESOME LADIES. Emory, and Danielle.Best food and cocktails I've ever had. Service was right now. Kept coming back to see what I needed, and if I wanted more. Every time I go back to Portland. Backyard social is my hangout. Not just because my daughter owns it, but because it is the best of the best to eat, drink, meet AWESOME people, hangout.Thank you Em, Danielle, and all your AWESOME staff .I'll see y'all soon. Absolutely amazing! Not one bad thing I could say. We had the Deviled Eggs, Fire Grilled Broccolini, Crispy Fingerling Potatoes, Duck Leg Confit, Asparagus and Fennel Risotto, and the Hangar Steak. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Perfect amount of acid and salt. Everything came out when it was ready and we just shared it all. Service was fabulous, atmosphere was fun. For drinks we had the Passion & Smoke and the Damn It Ricky, well made and very tasty. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!!
The staff of backyard Social are so heartfelt and passionate about what they are doing and the food is amazing without being the least bit pretentious. This is an underrated gourmet gem in Portland and the flavor palette is so bright , skews acid but in a way that lights up rays of sunshine and preserved lemon in my mouth. Really an amazing experience every time. And, I might add , very easy to go gluten-free here as their culinary creativity skews away from gluten ( But not in a way that feels like you're sacrificing anything- au contraire).
I wish this place would do something to manage their grill smoke because otherwise this would be such a great place! The food is good and staff are nice, but you have to sit in a cloud of grill smoke the whole time. The grill is right next to the backdoor so the inside fills with smoke, and the outside area is surrounded by tall bamboo so you sit in a fishbowl of smoke the entire time. If you have any children, elderly, or anyone with respiratory conditions in your party, you should probably skip this place
Got the happy hour burger and boozed wine. Delicious. The pickles were amazing
Super reasonable prices with super nice staff. Patio was heated and cozy. We loved everything.
