Held my boyfriends surprise birthday party here, and because I do not like beer I wasnât expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu (tachos were the bomb!) and by the craft cocktail drinks (try the flaming old fashioned). Our server was also the bar tender and he was phenomenal. They were so nice about letting us bring in a cake and set up a ton of decorations, and didnât flinch when everyone wanted to split the bill. The ambiance is nice and they were very lenient on the ever changing number of people in our group. We will be back!

Pretty nice place in Portlandâs old town. Good ambiance, good beer and funny food.
Food was excellent. I had their chicken avocado sandwich which was perfect. They had excellent tater tots and tasty side salads. Their beer selection was also perfect. I enjoyed their pilsner. Definitely recommend.
We had a leisurely dinner, food was yummy, good selection of beers and ciders, the wait staff was very attentive. Will definitely come back.
We made a reservation in advance but when we arrived, our table had apparently been given to someone else who showed up before their reservation. Fortunately, a table emptied and after a short wait we were seated. This was our first time at Backwoods Brewing so I selected a reuben sandwich and my husband ordered a hamburger. I would rate my sandwich a 2/10. It had dark rye bread, several slices of corned beef, but the cheese, sauce and sauerkraut were barely visible and added no flavor. I would also skip the sweet potato fries. My husband fared better with an 8/10 score on his hamburger. We should have read more reviews before trying this place.
The game was playing and the food was good! It was First Thurday and not too busy or a wait, which was so nice. We got our food pretty quickly, but did wait a bit too long for our check. Once we were able to finally get our waiters attention we could finish our evening.

Fun place with a great Portland vibe! We went for Mother's Day and the server was AWESOME and on top of it. The reason there isn't 5 stars is I did get cut with a martini glass with a huge chip and none of our appetizers made it to us. We didn't get any comp for the mis-haps, which was unusual when spending $200+ for a lunch - but the food we did get was GREAT and I really enjoyed our server.
