Four of us shared a sampling of entrees and small plates. Everything was delicious and plated beautifully. The unexpected combination of ingredients resulted in some amazing flavors.
The food was absolutely incredible. We savored every bite and continue to talk about how much we enjoyed ourselves. Well done Arden!
For the price, the prix fixe is great: $65 and each plate is actually a tiny amalgamation of multiple dishes, so you really do get to try a small bite of almost everything in the menu. The food is above average, but not GREAT. Some dish components are puzzling/don't add much (for example, the pasta with the morel mushroom slices on top ... the sliced mushrooms added nothing). The duck puff pastry was perhaps too salty. I had two cocktails and did not find either very strong. Other dishes are better; we loved the chocolate cake. They label the leftovers with the name of the restaurant, contents, and a date, which is honestly a very thoughtful touch. I would come back and try them again.
I enjoyed dinner very much. Unfortunately, the white wine (last time) and rose (this time) were not chilled well. That was a bit disappointing.
Great food!
We always love dinners at Arden. The food is always AMAZING and inventive, the staff attentive, and the chance to people watch (inside and outside the restaurant) is fun for us country folks. Love this place!
Food menu is limited.. the restaurant was very warm too.
3/5 for the food and service5/5 for the wineWe were disappointed by our experience at Arden. After reading the articles, reviews, and menu we really expected more. The individual who served us was under-experienced and did not know the menu well. At first we thought she was the host because she greeted and seated us. But then she continued to serve our table. Before she even brought us to the table she was already asking us if we wanted to still or sparkling water. Then she forgot what we said and literally asked us the question as if she had never asked before. This was just the beginning. We then asked her about the Chef’s tasting menu and she said “I roughly know what it is.”We ordered the chefs tasting menu anyway and expected that would give us the best selection. The starting platters lact acid and complexity, particularly the Baratta and mushroom. Both ingredients we love but the dish was underwhelming. And unfortunately our server kept taking away dishes and wine glasses before we were done with them. We had to stop her.The best thing we ate was the lamb Ragu pasta. Everything else was underwhelming. Except the wine. Every single wine we had was sensational.I wish we had a manager to speak to before leaving. We were pretty disappointed we paid as much as we did for this type of experience.
Great food and nice staff! The restaurant is in a really nice neighborhood with bars and restaurants.
Food was amazing. Cant skip the duck!! Very yummy
