I’ve been twice to this place. Before the pandemic it has different chefs and management. At that time, easily a 5 star place. Now post pandemic with new staff learning a new menu, I’d drop it to 4. The food was excellent but without some of the previous highlights (no more octopus!) it seems less special of a place to go to. It is not really a tapas style place anymore as the skewers are quite small and otherwise there are few small plates beyond ceviche
Amazing amazing amazing!!!!!!We had a perfect bday night here.Excellent dishes, super welcoming vibes, and home-like service. The skewers, the pan de yams and the paella all very very delicious! And also shout out to the table next to us! Thanks for the bday song!!!!
Still amazing and extraordinary after all these years! In used to come here often back 10-12 years ago as it was one of my 2-3 favorite restaurants in Portland because of its stellar ambience along with magical food unlike that found in most places. Returning this week for the first time in a dozen years, I found great food, perfect service and a charming atmosphere. My Russian friend declared it the best American restaurant of her 6 month visit here. Perfectly wonderful!
Delicious lomo saltado - exquisite and complex flavors. The spicy cocktail is my absolute favorite. Not too sweet and just enough kick.I've been coming to andinas for years and always have a sublime experience. Especially now post pandemic, their kind and attentive servers are a breath of fresh air. As someone who is gluten free I appreciate their awareness. Although the menu has changed over the years, the quality of the food and variety of flavors has not. I'm looking forward to my return.
The services and the desserrs were really good but the food and drinks not at all. The seco was good served cold. The lomo saltado is made with soy sauce, but for this restaurant it was made with a thick red super spicy sauce. I told the server about it and he said that people complained that it was too salty so they change the recipe. Im peruvian and I could say that a good lomo saltado is not salty if its is made the correct way. My husband just ate the meat because he was hungry but it was freaking spice. Also, the meat was not cook well and the prices are over priced. I wont come back again.
Absolutely impeccable. Drinks were delicious, service was spectacular, and the atmosphere was spot on. The owner even came out to chat with us about growing up in Peru. What a unique experience! Only suggestion is that although the Paella was great, for that price it could use more seafood. Regardless, definitely would go back and am actively recommending to all friends!!
The restaurant has excellent Peruvian cuisine and is very authentic. We ordered as appetizers ceviche and yuca frita which were very tasty. Main dishes were chicken and lamb, also were good. Dessert was a delicious and unique flan. Friendly staff. We really appreciate that we were asked to show our COVID vaccinations cards. We felt they really take care about those people who are consciously aware of the lethal virus.
Ate first time . Very good serive and ambiance. Food is also very good. We looked menu only before going . Some of the options were not available once reached there .
Andina has been one of my all-time favorites for years. My husband and I have enjoyed their menu favorites and the ambience it has to offer. Unfortunately, the mainstay menu items have changed significantly, sadly leaving us underwhelmed. The 3 large Sea Scallops on raised mashed potatoes with a plum (?) glaze, and the Rack of Lamb, that kept us coming back, are no longer on the regular menu. The appetizer with three unique dipping sauces are gone. What was once our favorite restaurant has become a "maybe, let's see what other choices are out there" type of restaurant. Our request? Please get back to these original favorites that made us fall in love with Andina in the first place. We continue to look at your online menu...hoping.
5 stars but a message for management to read and improve. We’ve loved this place for years and still do. We are happy to see it come back after the first part of the pandemic. We’re told they have a new chef and the food is still amazing; for the most part. We had the new version of Seco and the Carapulcra. Amazing dishes! The taste and quality of both are in line with a restaurant of this caliber; not something you can find at a cheaper Peruvian restaurant. But we also tried the Ceviche, and although the fish was fresh and the ingredients were of great quality, the taste was missing something. It was not extraordinary or to the level expected for this restaurant. But we want to think it is just a glitch due to the restart. The Lucuma ice cream was way better than before; great quality, and did not seem store bought. Once again both the Seco and Carapulcra were fantastic; but we did note the portion size of the Carapulcra, compared to the Seco, was rather small. Such a tasty dish deserves at least 10% more on the plate. And our server could have been a little less uptight and more relatable and friendly. We did after all have two Peruvians seated at the table and expected a little more of the warmth of Peruvian culture from the waiter ;) But all in all, it is a great comeback!!! The food is really fantastic save for a few tweaks needed on the Ceviche. So definitely GO EXPERIENCE IT! :)
