The food was amazing and so was our server. Was having a lovely time until the last 10 minutes when a man (I assume is the owner) rushed us out. Asked us to move from a 4 top to a 2 so he could sit another party. We literally had just spent almost $400 -had just finished dessert and paid. We were were just finishing the last of our wine from the bottle we ordered. Tarnished the experience because we were thoroughly enjoying the meal. I won't dine in again...may consider take out....
Great food and solid service. Though pricey, it delivers great value. We started with the Caesar Salad, which featured incredible fresh dressing, house made crotons, and yummy greens (well, technically greens and reds). Oh, they also brought some house made breads that were delicious. We tried three pastas. The Tagliatelle was OK, but the Agnolotti (corn, mascarpone, lobster) and the Bucatini Amatriciani were exceptional, i.e., some of the best pasta dishes I've tasted in years. For dessert we opted for the Budino (butterscotch pudding) and the Panna Cotta (with a rhubarb compote). Both were good, but the Budino was outstanding. Surprisingly light yet very flavorful; the whipped cream was also way above average (could be it's own dessert). The service was friendly, well timed, and attentive. It was also nice to see the owner or manager (I don't know) visit tables.
Great pasta dishes. Lobster agnolotti is delicious but my favorite is the garganelli (rolled penne) with white ragu.Friendly owner (i believe he was the owner..?)
Amazing food and atmosphere. Attentive service. Overall outstanding experience.
I had a mixed bag of emotions with my dining experience. The main meal was great, but the deserts were a bit disappointing. The service was great, but the table location was not so good. I'm sure it could be remedied, but my table and ambiance experience was kind of bad. To the managers/owner, you have to fix the leaning table of pisa permanently. Also the banging of the far NW door when it opens and shuts can be fixed. The door hitting of the door against he wall makes it shake and is quite disturbing. Finally, the far NW corner tables are way too cramped and not socially distanced from each other. Even though I wanted to give them a higher rating and as the restaurant critics are touting this as the best place to eat Italian in Portland, then it should be a five star experience all the way around.
Really, really nice dinner experience. Service phenomenal, not hovering, but on top if it all. Food was fresh, savory, nice portions. I think everything was made there? Hard to beat.
Amazing food, wonderful service. On a Sunday evening parking was easy on 13th Ave, so don't let that worry you. The only spoiler to our evening was the two people at the table next us, one of them talked virtually non-stop through her and our meal with occasional full-volume cackles.
Wonderful neighborhood gem. Delicious food and warm ambience.
Cute area of the city. The food was incredible and came out very quickly. The service was spot on - very attentive staff means my wine glass and water glass were never empty. Get the octopus for an appetizer! The appetizer size of pasta was enough, though it would be a good idea to order a couple dishes to share among a group because the dishes are varied and inspired.
The whole menu was great. Get the lobster corn pasta dish.
