We went here for Father's day. It was super busy and we had a party of 5 plus our 4 year old. We were told 45 to an hour. The hosts were extremely polite and friendly and were going above an beyond for people. The quote was spot on and the host walking us back was telling us about all the specials. Our server was amazing as well! We did wait quite a while for food understandably but she always kept us updated. She was super friendly with our 4 year old and our drinks never got empty.. We sat in the back by the door and also had someone in a wheel chair. I used to be a restaurant manager for several years and was blown away. Thank you for making our Father's day. ?
Breakfast was very good. Lovely and flavorful waffles. The hot sausage is excellent. Nice and spicy. Perfectly executed omelette and bacon. Nice hash browns. Biscuits are fluffy and very large. Super attentive and friendly service. Nice prices.

Our first dine in experience at this location was great. The staff were wonderful and the food was delicious.Our second experience was very poor. This past Sunday we thought we'd have another great experience. We felt ignored when we walked into the store, wanting to be put on the waitlist. When we were seated we quickly figured out what we wanted and ordered a club sandwich and a breakfast burrito. 45 minutes in and not once did our waitress come by to give us an update on our food or ask if we wanted something while we waited. Our order wasn't even that complicated. It should not have taken that long. We walked out hungry and upset. This was the first time we had ever walked out of a restaurant. I honestly don't think we'll be back.
The food was hot, fresh and done just right! Our Server, Mary Anne was amazing. Great service with a real smile and a sense of humor. So many things to choose from. We definitely will be returning!!
I had the classic eggs Benedict and they were decent but weren’t at the same level as the ones I had at the same restaurant in Torrance california. Overall the restaurant is very nice and well maintained. The bathrooms are clean and the service was amazing my only critique would be we weren’t given any water with our drink. Most restaurant despite ordering anything but water always provide water as well.
So disappointed, worst restaurant I've been to in a long time. They either need new staff or train their staff properly and it starts with a very very rude manager first. Plus, I have emailed corporate twice and no response. Poor customer service.
My husband I go to this Black Bear every Sunday and ALWAYS get the best service. The food is always amazing, all of the servers are great and I’m not even the slightest bit upset if we don’t get our usual server because they all take great care in what they do. If you want a great place to go for breakfast, look no further than this diner!
Usually outstanding but yesterday was not good at all. Hash browns and eggs were way over cooked. Actually black on about one third of the order. Surprised the waitress had the nerve to serve it. Ate what little I could and left. Very disappointed. Appreciate a refund or maybe a credit if this is not the new normal. Sat at the counter about 10:30 am yesterday. Extremely disappointing to see this at what usually is a decent place. I should have taken a picture.
The Black Bear diner is one of those places that you can consistently go to for good quality food. The staff has always been friendly to us at the location in Newberg and as far as wait time and what not We have never had to wait for a table for more than 5 minutes or so.Their line of hot sauces is something to be appreciated as well. Not only do they have a good range of spice levels but on top of that their pepper sauce is particularly zingy and biting... In a good way.I would recommend this place to pretty much anyone who just wanted to give meal to hang with friends or take their family too.
