Great place locals like to stop for a burger or hotdog and fries. I took down a double Super Roaker, and a shorty dog with everything, and shared some coney fries.
Their hamburgers are astonishingly good. Split the coney fries with a friend, they were great but really wanted a fork. Super minimalist setting but the food is fantastic.
I had a pumpkin shake and the coney fries. Pumpkin shake was only awesome, the fries completely outshined the shake by being a life changing experience.
Some times you just want to eat at a "greasy spoon" and not feel guilty. Well if your gonna do it. Bite the weeny at Roak's! A long dog and a Roak burger with some flavorful emulsified fries. Nothing better to satisfy your taste buds with than the legendary grub at Roaks.
A long time ago, I read that this was THE BEST hot dog. Put it on my list...Long Coney Dog is amazing, perfect bun, nice weiner taste, sauce was very tasty. 6" Short Dog - same weiner and bun taste, did mustard and onions only. Homemade fries - very good if this is your style. All in all, a very good hot dog. Great service too, cool "building" with interesting inside stuff and eating space. Clean, and so was the outside eating space. Parking - plenty right there. Got there on a weekday at Noon, plenty quick from order to eating. Stop in, and try the burgers - I guess they're good too. If I was near the place again, I'd return.
I've been going to rocks for 20 plus years it's never let me down. Get the Coney Island is always good the fries are a little on the greasy side but they're still pretty good. For a place that's been around since the 40s if not earlier not too disappointed at all.
Been coming to Roakes for some 40 years and am never disappointed. The Sauce is great, the snappy dogs excellent, and the buns soft, and yummy. I wish I didn't live 200 mils away, so I could go there more often!
I've been visiting this location for over 5 years and the food has ALWAYS been good here. The Hot dogs are my favorite but that's just me!!
so bomb prices are so reasonable its unreal the meat is real and the coney sauce is to die for! Also the cashier was super nice and had great customer service skills! And all around great experience!
I love this place. Loved it for almost 30 years. My mother made it a regular stop for her, my brother and I to visit since I was a child. I take my daughter and spouse here now. I hope this gem stays the same and lasts forever so that my daughter can one day take her family to eat this classic but uniquely amazing American treat. Coney sauce FTW. DELICIOUS!
