Edamame - no salt Maguro - tougher than a piece of round steak Ebi - smelled, not good Cali roll - small and not very good Tobiko - also smelled bad My daughter even stated that the water tasted bad. How can you fail on so many levels? We won't be back.

My party of two arrived to a half full restraint and were seated immediately and then forgotten about. It took one of the three waitstaff 25 minutes to bring us menus and drinks. We watched three other tables get seated, get menus, and have their order taken all before they remembered they had seated us. Our waitress said nothing to us accept, “are you ready to order” and in the hour and a half we were there not one single employee smiled. The food was good and the sushi chef did a good job. But by no means was the food good enough for me to want to come back. I understand that staffing is low and wait times are high. This was definitely just bad service and it sounds like that’s the normal for this establishment after reading other recent reviews.

I love this place. I truly do. The sushi was amazing, the service is usually iffy but i don't hold that against anyone. However, after my recent visit I can't say I'm excited to return. I work in food service so I understand the effort, but we arrived, ordered our food. And the sushi was out, eaten, and enjoyed. We ended up waiting almost an hour for my step-dads food, (while we were all finished) and they finally come out and say "we dropped the last one, but it'll be 5 minutes on a new one." Took almost another 30 minutes to get his food to the point where we just said put it in a Togo box.I don't mean to Karen on this place, but God this just ruined my entire families Sunday. My mother asked for a discount at least, (which we didn't get) but instead got "extra rice" like we didn't didn't sit there for at a table, waiting.Please. Star Sushi hasn't treated me horribly before. But if this is how it is now, I can't say I'll be returning.

Great sushi and service. Portions on appetizers were plentiful. Overall great experience.

I was excited to have sushi with my wife but our roll was loosely wrapped and lazy tasted good but not worth it. Our curry was like a gravy paste and felt more like eating a curry jello. I would not recommend this for a date nor for convenience. 3$ for a soda is kinda high not the worst prices but definitely not worth the price.

Look, I get it. Expecting world-class sushi in Medford is not realistic. And yes, the pandemic has made the restaurant biz tough for everybody. But come on, guys! Last night's take-out - a Maui Roll and a Spider Roll 2.0 - was so bad we threw more than half of it out ... and we're sushi gluttons! Star used to be a halfway decent alternative to those two overrated downtown sushi joints (you know who I mean) but it has been going downhill for a while. We're done with them.

I had the ninja and shrimp tempura. It taste so good! The service was amazing the chief came and brought us the food himself. I definitely will be back!

We were hopeful we were in for delicious sushi when we walked in and saw a busy restaurant. But to our dismay, both the $20.00 sushi rolls we ordered were were huge disappointments. One of our rolls that featured smoked salmon had mushy salmon that reflected the consistency of a canned product.Star Sushi will not be getting a return visit for us.

So, what is "white tuna"? What is "real crab"? What is "white fish"? You are not getting what you ordered from their menu. White tuna is NOT albacore--is most often oilfish, escolar, or butterfish, all of which are outlawed in Japan because of the waxy toxins they contain. When I ordered the "real crab" on the menu, I got the nasty imitation crab made from surumi paste, which is full of binders. (Watch out if you have food sensitivities!) You may never know what the "white fish" is since they may not even know. Seriously, if you love sushi, you may want to Google this stuff. I'm sure Star Sushi is not the only Rogue Valley sushi restaurant mislabeling fish to save money. But let's ask them to please tell us what we are eating. Raw fish is not something to be iffy about! My family members are longtime customers of sushi restaurants locally. We are now dedicated to asking for transparency. If you care what you're eating, ask more of your sushi restaurant.

We love the sushi and I especially love their sesame chicken. Very crunchy chicken pieces in a sweet sesame sauce. I don't think we have ever been disappointed with the food here. Maybe we are just super lucky, or more likely this place is just that good!
