My husband and I enjoy trying our local Mexican restaurants every now and then, we decided to try Comal for my birthday... I wish I would have just saved my money, and stayed home. The service was poor, our waitress literally sat down in our booth to take our order, and to collect payment on our check. When ordering the combo dish, there was an additional charge for getting the Verde enchilada versus just the normal red enchilada, which I can't have the red sauce because it gives me extreme heartburn. Didn't think that the spoonful of Verde sauce versus the half a cup of red sauce would be such a huge price discrepancy. Also, in the combo it says that for an additional chimichanga it would be a $2 charge, this doesn't mean two chimichangas, this just means that they are going to charge you an additional $2 for your second item that is supposed to be included with your combo anyways. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the food, service, or atmosphere. And it definitely didn't meet my expectations for the price. Instead of taking the chance here, I could definitely recommend going to other popular spots instead.
We had lunch here and it was fabulous! Our server was attentive and pleasant. The food was really good, with flavors and recipes unique to Comal. The verde sauce was especially unique and flavorful. They make their own chorizo and it is exceptional. I recommend trying it with the street taco so you can get the full flavor without too much interference. The menu said that each location has a unique menu so I'm looking forward to checking out both the Central Point and Phoenix locations in the near future.
Ordered birria tacos. I have never eaten better Mexican style food in my 60 years. Definitely going back again and again and I’m bringing friends. ?
Stopped in for the first time today. Ordered Sopes with chicken. It was amazing. The place is clean, friendly, overall a great experience.

I discovered this place before they werre Comal. i have been in love with it since but other than the amazing food, there is one thing that makes our visit everytime and that is Oscar. His personality is on point. He cares about his patrons and is much more than just a waiter or bartender. We tried to come on one of oscar's days off and the service was subpar. The waitress made amazing drinks but the service was terrible. Unfortunately this has been the trend anytime we come in on Monday's or Tuesday's. I love the touchless menu upgrades and the additional menu. But having only 3 tables in the entire restaurant and only getting the worst service is not acceptable. Being busy on your phone at the bar and almost 30 minutes after your customers have already asked for a to go box is not OK. I work in the customer service industry and that just isn't acceptable customer service. However, this location will never get lower than a 5-star rating because the food is that good and on every other day of the week the service is top notch!
The food was delicious. However, we were disappointed by the service. We waited over 30 minutes for chips and were only checked on once after receiving our food. We had reservations as well. There was live music that was extremely loud. It was disappointing because we would have liked to visit with family.
I stopped in for lunch with my sweetie. We both ordered from the lunch special menu, which offered the usual lunch special choices: tacos, enchiladas, tostada.I decided on the enchiladas with chicken, and she opted for the tostada. Both came out quickly and hot. I enjoyed the enchilada sauce, the chicken was so so but over all I was very pleased.We also noticed the drink menu, which is massive! We'll be back for dinner one of these nights to give the regular menu try & have one of there many to choose from margaritas!
The burrito was excellent. The meat tender and full of flavor. Also it was huge. They are in the process of opening another restaurant near us. We will be a frequent customer. Can't wait to try one of their soups.
The service was polite, kind, and efficient.The burrito was the Best I have ever had. Everything was Fresh, Flavorful, Fabulous!!I will never eat Mexican food ANYWHERE else!!!! Thank you for an Amazing experience ❤
