Food was very tasty, but an otherwise disappointing experience... order at the counter & pay up-front beforehand, then discover a mandatory 20% tip already factored-in when I go to sign (this was for a party of 2). Grab your own water on the way to the table. Food turns out to be Ala carte aside from garnish when it arrives. No one else in the restaurant, yet the waitress/cashier walks by my empty ice tea I set at the edge of the table, then sits down a few tables away (facing our direction) sorting silverware. Don't think we'll be back.
The food was delicious and came out quickly. The ambiance is warm and stylish, and the staff was friendly. You order and pay for everything at the restaurant and the food is brought to you at your table.I will voice a complaint in my displeasure that they include a 20% gratuity in the bill up front, while ordering at the register, regardless of party size and before you have a chance to evaluate the quality of the service or the meal. They don't tell you that gratuity is included, so if you're not vigilant, you could end up double-tipping. That may be why they do it, but it's a bit of a cheap trick for a purportedly upscale establishment. It was also off-putting and soured an otherwise pleasant dining experience.
Who closes for a "deep cleaning" on a Saturday night? There wasn't a person to be seen doing any cleaning either which is odd. Was looking forward to our last dinner of the trip here but ended up getting Mexican takeout because all the other good restaurants were booked since we didn't know they were closed until a couple hours before dinner.
Sat at the bar but loved the experience. Amy is a jewel and made us feel like family. Definitely will continue to recommend it as we have in the past!
Cannot rave enough about how fantastic our night was. From the moment we came in we felt welcome. The matradee greeted us with a warm smile and sat us promptly. We sat at the "chefs table" and what a treat. We met the lead chef Jimmy and got to enjoy watching the whole kitchen prepare works of art! The food is 5 stars the cocktails were made perfectly also 5 stars. Over all a wonderful experience. I had the pork chop special which was the best pork chop I've ever had. We also started with brussel sprouts and a house salad (so fresh). Thanks to all the staff again.
We had a delicious dinner at this quaint hotel restaurant. The dinner and atmosphere was wonderful. However, the hostess and waitress made us feel that it was our privileged to be able to be there. This made us chuckle since the Atticus Hotel’s website specifically states that this restaurant serves without attitude. In addition, there’s a 20% gratuity added no mater the size of your party. Arrogance!
Our family of three enjoyed a delicious meal at Red Hills Kitchen as part of my surprise Birthday trip. My husband had made the reservation months earlier and, while the restaurant had recently adjusted their hours to be closed for dinner, they opened in order to honor our reservation. The food and service were excellent and we couldn't be more appreciative!
Kayla the waitress was very nice. The seafood mac had so little seafood it could hardly called a "seafood mac". I had a special with rockfish, clams, and calamari. The seafood was so overcooked that only the brine was salvageable (which I added to my fiance's seafood mac which made it somewhat flavorful) my cocktail was good. What really turned me off was an automatic 20% charge for gratuity which I feel is presumptuous seeing that neither of us enjoyed our meal. Price/value equivalent.
This place far exceeded our expectations. Food was delicious and artfully presented. Duck wings appetizer was out of this world with flavors. Paella was also excellent.
Nice and different menu. Reasonably priced and good service. We sat at the chef's table overlooking the food preparation. Helped us make up our mind what to eat.
