Thanks to some locals who introduced me to Pura Vida tonight and I’m already planning to come back! I had the Salmon over quinoa and greens and our party also enjoyed the vegan tacos. Impressively perfect grilled salmon with a caramelized crust and I’m very particular about salmon. The cocktails were generous and delicious. The menu was perfectly priced and the portions ample for a good Appetit. I give 5 stars when I don’t see much room for improvement. Truly blessed sting here is the Good Life.
Walked in today looking to try something new and found a gem! Excellent food! Try the empanadas and the plátano maduro. The hostess was very open with communication and the wait time. Our waiter was also very friendly. It has very much hole-in-the-wall type vibes. We will definitely be returning!
Fresh Latin American cuisine with friendly service.A gem of McMinnville, we visited on a weekend when the downtown street is closed to vehicles and open to pedestrians.Pura Vida Cocina has tables on the street to enjoy a great outdoor setting under the red umbrellas. Our waitress offered to customize the Spicy Margarita with Guava and my husband ordered the Guava IPA. Both were great on a warm summer day.We tried multiple small plates to enjoy with our drinks and left stuffed to the gills. We had the Platano Maduro, the Aguacate Frito (fried avocado with mixed greens), the Chicken Tinga Taquitos, and the Arepas.A fantastic meal that was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this place.
Loved the vibe, the food and pretty much everything about it.We got the 3 taco ? mix and match and man that pork belly was on point! The wait staff were excellent and attentive. The beer was also great! Had a local brewery with Mexican roots producing much of what was on tap and it was quite refreshing!I got a Mexican style IPA which was light and delicious on a 90 degree day.I will be going here again soon and I highly recommend you give them a try as well.Live long and prosper!
This restaurant is average and nothing special. The Sandwich Cubano was good, however the potatoes lacked seasoning and the peanut romesco had a strange taste. The chicken tacos and enchiladas were dry and lacked flavor. The Gallo Pinto also had a bit too much cilantro. Overall, this restaurant was alright.
Small Latin American restaurant in a historic downtown district. Luckily we arrived for lunch before noon because at 12:20 the restaurant was full. We ordered the fish tacos with rice and beans, and the vegetarian chile rellano which was stuffed with vegetables, and cojita cheese with rice, beans and a salad topping all. Everything was very fresh and delicious.
Although casual, this is a restaurant that knows how to serve delicious food in a warm and professional manner. We split dishes and the staff could not have been friendlier to our requests. They divided our salad even without being asked. No extra charge for sharing the entree or any dishes. Nice sized menu with fresh ingredients done very well!
I could bathe in their salsa made with pumpkin seeds... yes you heard me & it tastes like there's a master chef. I assume there is. My mojito was strong and made with fresh lime and mint. Taquitos (pictured) are crispy and smothered in an aioli I think they should bottle and sell. They sat on back beans, sauces and veggie. My friend shared her Cubaño sandwich (pictured). Legit Cuban bread, all the accoutrements there... ham, shredded pork, cheese, sauce. So scrumptious! Give this place a shot if you enjoy Pambiche in PDX.
Crispy pork belly tacos!
Amazing food and service! This place was recommended by several random people on the street and it did not disappoint! I had the mix tacos and picked three different flavors. The fish and the shrimp were delicious but the Barbacoa (beef) was to die for!
