This cafe is FANTASTIC! Excellent lattes and kolaches. Fantastic cozy, warm ambiance. The couple running this place are so incredibly welcoming and sweet. My boyfriend and I stopped in on our trip from MN before heading out to explore more of Oregon and we are SO happy we did. If we find ourselves back in Lake Oswego this will be our go-to spot.
Very nice neighborhood cafe
As a native Texan who now lives in Portland, I can say that these are excellent, incredibly authentic Kolaches and my wife and I are so happy to have found this gem! The owners were so friendly and helpful, and just an all around delight to talk to. To go along with our Kolaches, I had the Cardamom and Honey latte and my wife had a regular oat milk latte; we both agreed they were incredibly well-made coffees and paired really well with the delicious Kolaches. We ate our Kolaches as soon as we ordered them and then immediately turned around to come back order more - that’s how good they were! We will be coming back regularly for sure!
As a recovering Texan this place is just a little piece of home to me. Kolaches are a Texas tradition and I’m so happy to have found this place years ago when they were still on Belmont. The owners are beautiful people (also recovering Texans) who put love into their food and into their interactions with the community. Thanks for bringing this Texas tradition to the PNW!Danny
We had the sausage kolaches and the breakfast kolaches and they were amazing! Even better than a traditional breakfast sandwich. We will definitely be back!
This review is mostly for their exceptional service. Came here on a Saturday morning around 11, on the way to the tulip festival. Got there and saw a sign that all kolaches were sold out. Was a bit disappointed but still went in for a coffee. We were informed that kolaches sell out pretty quickly, and esp since Easter weekend, people have been ordering more than usual. They told us we can order ahead of time. Except we couldn't, since they're closed the next day (Sunday) and we are from out of town. After the employee heard that, she told us she has 2 kolaches, which weren't the prettiest and they weren't going to sell it originally. But since we made such an effort, she gave us both kolaches, on the house. ( We ended up getting the potato sausage kolaches?)Happy sparrow cafe's service def turned my disappointment to happiness! Would definitely come back in future to support them.Tip: show up early or call ahead to hold order!
I have had the pleasure of going here the last 2 days for tea for meetings and it was been a joy. The family is so warming and just a joy to be around. I personally dont drink coffee but I had their milk tea today and I cant even tell you how wonderful it was! Perfectly smooth, delicious and just what I needed after the last 2 days. Most definitely recommend!
Always a pleasure. The best experience for a quick breakfast. The people there have the best personality and I love their Texas hotlinks!
Family owned business that makes a personal connection with everyone who walks through the door. The Kolaches are phenomenal. Just like Texas which makes sense since the owners are from the Lone Star State. Notable coffees and teas as well! Just go!!
