Mexican Tacos

On my second trip here, this tiny place was busy and understaffed. I don’t fault restaurants for this, esp. in view of staffing shortages everywhere. I ordered food to go and a cocktail while I waited. Crowded inside, I moved to one of 2 tables outside and waited for my drink to arrive. And waited. And waited. Twenty seven minutes later, no drink. I inquire inside to find food bagged and waiting, cocktail next to bags. I ask waitress how long my stuff has been ready—10 minutes. What gives? The waitress says, you left. Nope. Never brought my drink, food got cold. So I spent in Lake Oswego three times what I’d be charged for far superior Mexican street food in Los Angeles. The tacos are smaller and sadder. And salsa for the to-go crowd is $1 per thimble-sized plastic container, which I guess rich, white Oregon finds acceptable. Have at it, I’m done with this imposter.

This place is awesome. It’s small but honestly with how good the food, drinks, and staff are the amount of business they could do is maybe 2x or 3x. The staff is always super friendly, the space is intimate, and the food is awesome. They have rotating food specials which never disappoint, the cocktails are always straightforward, and the staff is overly friendly even though they deal with some tight space constraints. Anytime we go through Lake Oswego we try to stop in here.

Food was anything but "authentic Mexican".The Carnitas taste like they charred up some pork cubes on a griddle and threw some canned pineapple on top.Decor makes me think the owners/managers/ whoever have been to Mexico once during a cruise and now want everyone to know theyve been to Mexico. Its kinda like when Peggy Hill speaks spanish but its all over the walls.Server was nice.

Delicious tacos, ambiance and drinks!

Awesome, authentic mexican food and terrific margaritas. #1 mexican in Lk Oswego and greater Portland area!

Best Mexican food around town! Limited menu but I don't care. Service is awesome and the place is small but cool.

Cute small fun place with great food and drink!

Great tacos and drinks. All the meat choices are too notch

Great food but the service is horrible. If they could only hire 1-2 people who knew what they were doing this place would be able to fill each table. We waited 10 minutes for a server…

Who doesn't love tacos? The first thing I noticed coming here was the really fun and colorful decor of the restaurant. It really draws your eyes to look at everything, and makes you feel happy to see all the festive colors, including an image of Frida Kahlo. We ordered the 12 taco platter in order to try all the kinds of protein: chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian. I would say my favorite was the vegetarian; it was of sweet potatoes, roasted pumpkin seeds, and I think Mexican cheese. The beef might have been overcooked but then again, I have been taking a break from being a vegetarian, so I'm probably not the best judge. The staff were very friendly. They had a drinks menu too, but we stuck with the Jarritos.
