First time trying this place out. The person taking our order was very pleasant and customer oriented. The place was very busy during lunch. The establishment was very clean and ample seating. I had the pulled pork, it was OK, kinda dry. But will try it again because i think it deserves a second try.

Come hungry. A full sandwich is huge, but you can get a half size on almost all menu items. My go to is the french dip, but I also go for the daily specials depending on what I am craving. The only bummer is they can run out of the special. Love the Friday special Philly cheese steak. Reubens are tasty also. The Wednesday special BBQ brisket sandwich is another stand out, the brisket is moist and melt in your mouth tender, however it could use a little more smoky flavor.Vegans.... save yourself a trip, even the potato salad oinks, this cafe specializes in meat, after all it is attached to an equally great meat market. If you are in a hurry, order ahead, especially during peak times, expect at least 15 minutes from the time you order and up to 30 minutes.

Large selection of delicious meats, and sandwiches. My favorite place to find local meat and deli items. Not expensive and great customer service. Burritos and pulled pork sandwiches are incredible.

Awesome food, friendly and patient service. My uncle ordered the elk burger and he was in hamburger heaven, asking me if this was just a dream lol. The chili was excellent also. Lots of outdoor seating if the weather is good or if it gets busy as it does around lunchtime. For sure a place I'll be going back to especially with the butcher shop being across the parking lot.

Great staff, excellent quality food, fast service. Highly recommend running next door for meats while you wait on your order.

Great sandwich’s at the Deli

It's becoming a tradition to stop at the Meating Place Cafe while also going to the butcher shop. Their sandwiches/burgers are fairly large & they come with chips and a pickle. I really like that they have an intercom system for announcing orders - great for those hard of hearing or outside waiting. The staff seem fairly friendly, and hard working folks. They have standard fountain beverages and some bottled options too. They also have coffee, but their coffee does look a bit sad, so I wouldn't recommend that. They serve breakfast all day.The only reason I rate 3 stars is because so far all their sandwiches have been good....but that's it - like there's nothing outstanding about them. The wait times on Saturdays tend to be long too - like greater than 30 min. So definitely order first, do your shopping at the butcher shop, and your sandwich will hopefully be close to ready then.I do like that they use their own meats from the butcher shop in the sandwiches, and the food is consistently good. Looks like a good spot to hang out with friends and talk too - has a country diner like setting. They have a TV in the corner that seems to be tuned to either sports or hunting shows (if that's your jam).

What a treat! It was a cold rainy morning and a hot bowl of Elk Chili sounded perfect! Pro Tip: I ask for cheese and onions on mine :)

BBQ pulled pork was so good!!The meat was so juicy and tender.I would like to try other menu too

Wasn't at the Cafe. Shopped the meat market for the first time. Trendy spendy. Looks to be quality, but didn't ask if all product was proper fed. No beef tongue or sweetbreads in stock. They said to call ahead and they'd hold tongue for me. Can't remember on the sweetbreads. Nice helpful crew.
