Nice little sushi restaurant here at local Portland. Very beautiful outdoor seating area. We came in for dinner and it was pretty busy. They suggested book reservations ahead. I ordered curry pork and miso mushroom soup, and my hubby got a roll. Curry was flavorful but not enough curry to cover the pork. We asked if we can have more curry and they told us it’s going to be extra$5.Miso soup have some mushrooms and tofu inside. They only put the small mushroom head which is good.The roll was ok, they made with good material but the texture was a little lack. Tempura inside was already soften instead of being crispy.Believe or not, the su chef saved the customer service. The actual servicer had alright customer service but the sushi bar chef have excellent excellent customer service.The servicer we had, she does not care how many we can eat for just two people but kept pushing us to order this and that.Overall it’s a nice little store but a lots to improve

Made a reservation, was seated immediately upon arrival with prompt, courteous and very helpful wait staff. Food was some of the most delicious sushi I've ever tasted, and the Cherry blossom sake was outstanding.
I love this place! Visited for the first time last week around 4pm. We got there right before the rush! Food was amazing and not too pricey. Service was great. Planning on coming back for valentines day
Delicious food. I got the chef's choice sushi and was delighted with the results. Currently the restaurant is a bit short staffed, so call ahead to make a reservation. If you do not you may end up waiting 45 minutes like we did!
The absolute best Japanese food I’ve ever had! I read the reviews and thought it might be over rated because I’ve been to many restaurants around Portland, Beaverton and Hillsboro area and nothing stood out as unique or flavorful!! Had the chirashi bowl, Boston bay roll, and the uni scallop and smoked salmon appetizer. Fish tastes so fresh and melts in your mouth. Staff are wonderful and the place is cozy
Syun Izakaya has some of the best sushi I've had in the Westside Portland metro area. The staff are friendly and helpful. The sushi plates were the right size for my wife and me. All the seafood was fresh. The place is popular, so reservations are a good idea, even on a Tuesday night. Recommended.

My Mom and Dad love sushi so I took them here for my dad's bday. We didn't make reservations but they were still able to get us a table outside. I would definitely recommend a reservation tho because the place was booked up.There is a large outdoor covered seating area besides the indoor area. The heat lamps were great and everything was very clean. Parking was also easy to find on the street without any meters.We ordered the large sashimi platter and a few other items. The portions were good sized and the fish was very fresh. My father definitely approved. My mom loved her stir fry dish and I really enjoyed my Chirashi. We had so much food that we had to take some home too.I would highly recommend checking out this place if you are looking for the best Sushi restaurant in Hillsboro.
Good food and great service. The sushi is good - fresh and flavorful - but nothing special. Outside of sushi, there are hidden gems all over the menu (yakitori, chawanmushi) so go with friends.
