2022 - Brunch with my in-laws on 4th of July at Hale's was really fantastic. Wait time was short and the service was great.Coffee was constantly filled and always checked if we needed anything. Food was good and right portions, greatly priced.
I think God himself may be whisking the eggs and pancake batter in the kitchen. My husband and I agreed that this is the best breakfast we have ever had at a restaurant. The omelette was huge! The pancakes were perfection. The time from ordering to receiving our meal was rather quick, and the ladies serving us were lovely...Sherry A was our waitress. Whoever was in the kitchen on this day at 10am, your skills are applauded. Thank you!
The staff are always kind and friendly. Always making sure that your drinks are refilled in a quick manner. I love that!!
I went to Hale’s with my family for breakfast for the first time and I have to say, I had THE BEST pancakes ? I have ever had in my entire life! They were so light and fluffy. My omelet was delicious too, but I focused so much on eating the yummy pancakes that I didn’t have room for the omelette so I took it home. The portions are HUGE, the service is OUTSTANDING and the atmosphere is TERRIFIC! I’m so happy I found a new favorite place. We will definitely be back!
This place felt like the restaurants I went to in the 70’s. The prime rib was a inch thick. Although the horseradish sauce didn’t have a hint of horseradish. After a Bloody Mary it would have been easy to order another and skip the food. The Chicken Marsala stunk like alcohol, it tasted bad. Overly based in wine. I want my food to taste like food, and my alcohol to taste, well you know, like alcohol. This place seems to be a average food place, nothing special, nothing particular bad, but get a Bloody Mary while you’re here.
Havent been here since I was a kid getting a Butterhorn... Still good food and great service.
Super old-timey feel to the place, but very clean and well maintained. Portions are delicious and VERY generous. One of my favorite places for brunch. Nice outside patio for sunny days. Lounge in the back for drinks and a more chill environment (full disclosure, I've walked into the lounge part, but never actually sat in it). Would recommend
I used to frequent this restaurant quite often back in the early 80's when I worked in Hillsboro but have not been in this place since then. However, after a long hiatus, I decided to give it a try and see if anything had changed. We went to this restaurant for an early dinner and were very pleased with both the service and food. She had a Reuben sandwich and I had the fish and chip meal and both were more than enough.
Oh my gosh. What a delicious breakfast. A huge delicious breakfast. They had gluten free pancakes...yes please. I also had scrambled eggs and sausage, also great. My husband had the skillet which he thoroughly enjoyed. Glad I came here hungry and wish we lived closer. Wonderful server, too.
Well, Hale's used to offer great food and service. Lately, the food quality is hit and miss at best. And service? It is pretty much nonexistent anymore. Just a bunch of lost souls as of late who wouldn't know their @ss from a hole in the ground. Sad they've let it go. Used to be enjoyable to eat there. After advertising their Steak and Lobster special for Dine-In or Take-out for New Year's, it turned out to be a lie. We won't be returning. Hopefully, 2022 brings them bankruptcy, and we can get a new quality restaurant that understands service in their place.
