The sandwich was meh. The sandwiches at the Fred Meyer deli next door looked more appetizing. That doesn’t matter though. The guy working behind the counter was nuts. We asked about the menu and he was being sarcastic and rude. He started attempting to speak to me in Spanish because he saw I was Latino. We thought he was joking at first but he was just being a jerk. We sat down and tried to eat our sandwiches there. But whenever a customer was approaching the door, he’d groan and start cursing because he apparently hates his job, all while we were just trying to enjoy our sandwiches in front of him. So keep that in mind if you plan on checking this place out. I’m all about helping small businesses but I regret leaving him a 20% tip.
One of my favorite lunch spots, super good and the bread is always the best.
I've been a customer for many years now and came in to grab a sandwich for lunch when I heard the owner publicly berate a doordash driver for being late by 3 minutes and 26 seconds while he was picking up a delivery. Instead of handing the driver the order, the owner decided to continue his tantrum and stated that the doordash driver was hurting his score on the app and not to do it again. The driver was very polite and took the order. I'm not sure if the owner was having a bad day or not but despite that he shouldn't be yelling at anybody especially delivery drivers who are helping his company out. It was very disheartening and embarrassing to all the customers who had to witness that and I'm sure the driver didn't find it very pleasant. I will no longer be frequenting Big Town Hero and I hope the owner reads this review and understands that being in a customer service oriented business he should conduct himself a little better than he did.
I came at a busy time. The man who took my order seemed very stressed out. He was very rude and doesn’t seem to work well under pressure.
The manager is usually working and he remembers people pretty well. I always get exactly what I order. If you want to order 3+ sandwiches around lunch time, I recommend ordering ahead and picking it up. They are only open till 3. The bread is amazing as well as the soups. Love this place. I'd choose this over any other sandwich place.
Expensive and takes awhile to get your order. Sandwich was ok.

Customer service level was beyond poor. Guy behind the counter made snooty comments to myself and my buddy. Not my fault or any of the other customers fault that you’re working a solo shift. You still have to have customer service skills. Sandwich was ok. First time in and won’t be back.
Big Town Hero has been my favorite sub shop for over a decade. The ingredients are fresh, the sandwiches delicious and the price is fair. This is a classic Hillsboro shop and business and we are lucky to continue to have the restaurant as an option. So glad they’re making it through this storm of a pandemic. Highly recommended!
