The overall experience was not worth it at all.—$80 for 3 drinks, 1 meal & 1 appetizer.. not worth it.Wait times were long, I understand they only had 1-2 servers but even when ordering, they never let you finish ordering or asking them questions before leaving. It’s rude. They don’t explain their meals at all, when asking what comes all on the plate.. The meal came with only 2 tortillas(?) which seemed odd too.Took them 10 minutes to even bring 2 drinks, another 10 for the 3rd & another 10-15 to even order. Asked for more tortillas and took them another 10-15. They didn’t even come until the food was gone. Asked them to remove the tortillas from the order & I don’t know why or what still made it $80.
We were a small but loud family and they took very good care of us. We stayed Past paying the bill and they still continued to check on us and I didn't have a bad interaction with any of the staff. All very kind......the food. Wow! So good..be aware the portions are quite large! My pooled was giant! Guacamole was also probably my top favorite thing...mmm....I recommend it. First time at this location but I recommend both spots.
I have eaten there many times and I haven't been disappointed once. The staff is friendly, they are generous with the portions, and the prices are very reasonable for lunch time. Probably the only problem I have is when there is a large group of people around the noise level can get pretty high, but that can be said for other places. And even during the pandemic they were able to get best Mexican restaurant of 2021.
We did not enjoy our experience at Amelia's. The restaurant had a mildewy smell, the table was sticky, no one told us we had to scan the QR code for the menu, we had to use the dirty QR code paper under the table leg to balance the table, we had to ask for more salsa which was bland and very small, and the waitress didn't see we were out of chips. Had to ask her again for those, too. I asked the waitress for sparkling water out of the tap, the manager yelled across the room to me, "You want sparkling wine?". "No, sparkling water", I said. He brought me sparkling water in a bottle, which cost more. My tamales MAYBE had a tablespoon of meat and were tepid inside. My husband's burrito was equally small but he enjoyed the mole. Not good prices for what you get and the atmosphere was cold. Never returning.
we ate at their food truck and the food was absolutely amazing and so affordable. the people were also very nice!
Horrible service. Don’t waste your time.Update: After reading the owners laughable response, I will reply to the fiction. We were NEVER told by any staff member that they were short handed. We were NEVER told by any staff member that the food would take longer than usual. We were NOT the last table to be seated, a party of four came in about a half an hour into our wait for food. The waitress only came by once to take our order, never checked on us, never informed us the food would be a while, WE NEVER SAW HER AGAIN!!! After an hour of waiting for our meal, what other choice did we have? I understand staffing issues, but for the owner to make up a story to save face is unacceptable. A simple apology and an offer to make things right may have brought us back, but instead you have lost customers for life. Again, do not waste your time going here.
I wish we lived closer - I would be here every day! Tortillas from scratch and actual SPICY and AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Also LOVE that they offer brunch/breakfast. This is the best Mexican food that I have tasted outside of Mexico.
This location wasn't quite as great as the location on 4th Street. The pazole was pretty lackluster, the tacos were overall meh, and even the rice and beans were bland, especially compared to their other location. I love the idea of its fancier menu options, but having bad cooks just negates their efforts. The service was great, though!
Used to be a really good place but has taken a hit on the quality of service. They told me pick-up would be ready in 20 min. After waiting 30 min they said it wasn't ready because I didn't specify something in my order. They took my order over the phone and had my number but didn't make any attempt to get clarification or reach out about the delay. They let us wait in the restaurant for 10 min before passing blame to us.
Amelia's is truly one of the best Mexican restaurans in town. The food is amazing, the portions are very generous, and the service is always good. My hands down go to is the Pozole with roasted pork. Today a swayed from the norm and ordered the loco Boruto with Asada Al pastor.it was the size of my leg OMG. If you are in the mood for Mexican food and are in the area you won't regret it. Remember, be mindful be happy and be the best you.
