Tamale boy is purely disgusting. The carnitas was so dry you could barley swallow it. Like it was made last week. Says large tortilla but whole burrito was like the size of an orange. Taco bell makes a better burrito then this place. Wife got a burrito bowl and she even had to take the carnitas out because it was literally hard like it was out of a can. First and only time i will come here. We were excited to try also. You can see the end of fork in photo is almost as big as burrito. Nasty threw the other half away. What a waste of $13.

70 taps, plus shares space with a Detroit style pizza place and a Tamale place

Excellent selection of beers and cocktails. Staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. The eats, pizzas and Mexican are also very good. Nice ambiance and generally a good group of people.Photos next time.

Very disappointed in the direction they have chosen. They went from a very community based establishment where patrons were known on a first name basis. My wife and I met at their pub “valley growlers”. The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff was always friendly. We had a tradition of eating sushi take out from a place next store with a pint of beer which was never a problem. We were trying to continue this tradition at the new location on which the lady at the register (after swiping my card) hurried over to point out to the owner that I had outside food. I was told I was not allowed to eat this in the building. I find it incredibly sad that business growth trumps customer service and taking care of regulars. This bar maid I have never seen ruined a very special tradition, and the owners response was even more pathetic. An uncomfortably forced smile and a suggestion to go back to valley growlers (which was closed, he didn’t even know his own hours).Sadly, he himself had served me many times and I always gave generous tips. Whatever family atmosphere they had is now gone. Never grow beyond those that supported you from the beginning.Rules are rules and I respect and understand that, but there is a proper way of handling those situations. We were unaware, they already swiped our cards, handled the situation very poorly with no kindness or respect.I wish them the best of luck on their new franchise but their fortune making gem Valley Growlers will be sorely missed.

Nice spot. First time there. Had a few drinks,, that were tasty and well made.. I do not drink whiskey so I cannot speak to that but the selection was impressive. Service was prompt and knowledgeable. Looking forward to going back and trying some food.

Really awesome place. We've been fans since their first (tiny) location across the street and have loved watching their business take off in a big way! The owners are really awesome, kind people who also work in the business; you're likely to see them pour you a pint when you stop by.

Best caesar salad in Portland, hands down! My coworkers and I thoroughly enjoyed our happy hour in the Whiskey Bar. The service, food and cocktails was expectional!!! I love that no matter the event, Valley Public House has what you need. Thanks!

Always friendly staff, clean venue, good food options.... and the beer list is the best selection in town

Even by myself, a great hang with my Hazy IPA next to the fire pit. Doesn’t get any better that, folks. Yum!

This is a great spot in Happy Valley. I love that there are 2 different restaurants inside to choose from. My family and I decided to try some of both. We had the queso fundido dip (I forgot to take a picture because we were so hungry!) And also the pepperoni pizza, mom had a slice of the Hawaiian, which she said was delicious. Such good food from both Tamale Boy and Ranch!! We grabbed a couple drinks and enjoyed our food inside, but they also have a nice big outside seating area with cool fire pits to sit around. I would highly recommend this spot to others in the area!
