We LOVE Taco Del Mar! We LOVE their food!They're becoming harder and harder to find, so when we found this one, we were all excited!But this one might be why they're closing. The food was so-so. Large servings, but not the tastiness we expected.The real downer, though, was that the cook/manager YELLED at us when we entered! We, a group of four white women, did something he misunderstood. One of us spoke to him in Spanish, and a co-worker did, too. He was so upset that it took both of them and repetition to calm him.

We've been going to Rubio's many years and enjoy it. We went in Tacos Del Mar thinking it was similar. Not by a mile. Got the Friday fish taco special and the corn tortillas were dry and tasteless, the fish was too small a piece and also tasteless. It was a flat, breaded piece about 1/4" thick. My husband got a bowl and was similarly unimpressed, said it was "eh". Just not worth the money and honestly, I couldn't finish mine. Even with hot sauce it was just too dry.
First time ever coming here. Ordered the taco salad and it was awesome. Had a side of refried beans with rice. Quite delicious. Definitely gonna come back.
Good food
So YUMMY! I get the shredded beef tacos! The best meat in my opinion. I love all the toppings you can add for free. I always go with cabbage instead of Lettuce try it you won't go back to Lettuce. The ladies that work here are so sweet and make great food. I eat here at least twice a week. I haven't branched out from the tacos, but my siblings have and we all come here all the time. Tryba shredded beef taco you won't regret it:)
Better than Taco Bell
I have visited many Taco Del Mars in Oregon and Washington and this location is by far superior in every way. I have been coming to this location for several years since the other locations in Portland have closed. Despite other reviews, all food items are always fresh and hot, with the exception of items intentionally served cold (salsa and lobster). Out of hundreds of visits to TDM, this location has NOT ONCE disappointed (I can't say that for other TDM locations). Portions are generous, and you can ask for additional toppings. The taste and freshness can't be beat. Staff are consistently courteous and responsive. Prices are great, but I try to come for the Daily Specials. I would never go to any other restaurant or fast food chain. Why try "the rest" when you can have "the best?"

A little disappointed with the food quality. I had 2 fish tacos and it was hot and cold. The fish was hot but she put the “over night toppings” and it killed the taste. Queso and chips a lil pricey for a small amount.Taco Bell had better taste and worth the money..I’m not even a fan of Taco Bell.
