The food is good and they have outdoor seating, but the area around where you order inside was noticeably very dirty. That is pretty unusual for a food place and it makes me wonder how dirty it is where we can't see. The cashier was very friendly. We got the fried cod and the fried salmon. The cod was better. I recommend the cod.
Best fish and chips around. The cod is fresh and without a heavy batter. The fries are pretty good too. The Cole slaw is somewhat bland but if you're wanting fish and chips I'm guessing that really isn't a big issue. Highly recommend Newman's.
Went there for the 1st time to have lunch with my son. This is one of his favorite go to seafood spots and is also now one of mine too. Freshest seafood I've had, great fish n'chip and the grilled salmon was absolutely the best I've personally ever tried. Wish it was closer to me in Albany, but I'll definetly make another trip to Eugene. So good, great food and very friendly staff!
Newman's on Coburg is the go-to for quality seafood at a very reasonable price. I can easily get lunch here for only $10-$15 and it's always fresh and delicious. They have a really simple menu and the food is pretty casual fish & chips, etc.
Only been here twice, the food is always good, Had the fish and chips. Not like traditional fish and chips, you have a variety of different types of fish, I chose the Salmon After you order its like 10to 15 min wait. I only gave 3 stars because the Gentleman that was taking the orders really needed a happy pill and some customer service skills. But other that that nice little fish house. You have inside seating or outside
While I'll agree that the quality is superb, the fact that the "fish and chips" did not come with said chips is infuriating. Your menu says it's included and with your prices it darn well should be, but when we got home we saw none of it came with the promised fries. And I've learned this isn't the first time. Therefore they get only 1 star for their blatant false advertising.
Great service and chowder worth coming back for! The halibut and chips was fantastic-crisp and hot without being greasy.Also they have a great outdoor seating area (in addition to indoor seating) that is very pretty and perfect for these sunny spring days!

The cod fish and chips here is tasty. The fries are a little soggy and they've become kind of stingy with the malt vinegar.But, if you know that up front you won't be disappointed. Probably the best take out fish and chips in Eugene. (With Fisherman's Market being a very close second.)
I tried this place for the first time in January, 2022. What a pleasant surprise! Fresh fish, cooked right, with fair prices and friendly service. I started with the clam chowder. It was delicious and the portion was generous. Then on to the Fish and Chips. Excellent! I ordered it with cod but there are several choices of fish. The fish was mild and fresh. There are a few tables indoors and ample outside dining as well. Very casual, comfortable atmosphere, So many menu items to try, I will be back soon!!
