Had had their pizza before and recent trip was average quality. Sy's NY pizza on campus much better pie but limited menu and lacks ambiance. Head to head and only regarding pizza. Sy's wins hands down. I am an from Italian family who was born in NY.
Delicious New York style pizza! We had planned dining in the place next door but we decided to try this since it wasn't so busy and we were not disappointed! The garlic knots were our favorite, they had the perfect amount of garlic and cheese, the marinara sauce complemented them perfectly. 10/10 ! We also got the ham and pineapple pizza which was really good too! The staff was really friendly and welcoming. Price is reasonable!
First time here. Next time I will remember to take a photo. I have no taste or smell currently. NO I AM NOT COVID POSITIVE. I wouldn't go out in public if I were! Anyhow, I had been sick for almost a month & needed to do at least something normal for my first outing. While I have been sick, I have been putting together a full list of all the local pizza places, that I wish to try out. My friends swear by Mezza Luna so this is where I chose to have a first meal of sorts. It looked freaking fabulous & it was $3.50 for a huge slice. Well to my very happy surprise, I could catch a hint of taste, so now in another month, I will be ordering a large whole cheese pizza for the family to try. I am glad I went here for my grand outing! Always, new discoveries are so nice. See you soon, y'all.
Love Mezza Luna! Delicious every time!! Great for a quick slice or whole pie!!
Mezza Luna has gone far down hill over the last 2 years. They used to make great New York style pizza with a crunchy crust. $50 (2 medium) for wet, overly cheesy, mushy sub par pizza was very disappointing. No Basil on the margarita pizza? And it tasted like they dumped a bunch of garlic salt on it. This was on a Monday night. Hopefully they can hire some new people who know how to cook a New York Style Pizza. At the price point for sub par pizza I wouldn't recommend Mezza Lunna any longer.
I have been eating here for several years as I work close to Pearl Street. I hate to say that quality has gone down hill in the last few months. I have ordered slices over the last couple weeks and they have all been burnt and extremely crisp. Even looking at the full pizza in the case they look burnt. Once the are reheated it becomes cardboard crust with dried out toppings. You are cooking all the favor and moisture right out of them. They just don't look good anymore, even in the display case. Sorry to say I may not be back. It has been a big disappointment and I know it can be better. Maybe the ovens are incorrectly calibrated or your cook is not paying enough attention.
Great new York style pizza place. No frills or fancy stuff, just good pizza.
Gem of a place pizza was hot, delicious not overly sauced and the crust.... yummy.
The garlic knots were so delicious. We also had a veggie pizza. The crust was perfect! The wait staff were fast but friendly. We are from out of town but we will remember this pizza.
I have been a huge fan of mezza luna for the longest time until today. I ordered a pizza and garlic knots through the slice app with a requested pick up time of 6:45 since I had work until 6:30 p.m. When I got out of work I saw that I had recieved a message at 6:08 pm from Mezza Luna Pizzeria saying my order was ready (35 minutes before I requested it). I quickly drove pick up my order and take it home. By the time I got home (7pm) my garlic knots cold to the touch and the pizza luke-warm at best. While I understand my pizza WAS technically ready by the requested time I feel having it finished and boxed nearly fourty minutes before requested is horrible customer service and food safety practices. Sad as it makes me I am going to be incredibly weary of ever spending my money here again. I regret even not asking for for money back the moment I walked in.
