All I can say is: AUTHENTIC Chinese food!!!I grew up in the Northeastern part of China and I have been trying to find authentic food that represents the taste of my hometown. I'm not gonna lie, this is the very First time I found that in the US ( I have been living here for over 10 years now!!)I came to Eugene for a business trip and I am so glad I found this place! I'm planning on coming here everyday for dinner when I'm in town! The chef is specializes in both Szechuan cuisine 川菜 and northeastern cuisine 东北菜. I fell in love with the food with one bite! I highly recommend this place, trust me, you won't regret!!
Great dishes with lots of elements and flavors, not just your typical sweet stir fried American-Chinese food…although they do offer the usual American Chinese fare here, the menu is quite diverse with tons of what seems to be authentic variety to choose from! I personally had the Eggplant with Tofu & Pork “chefs special” which came in a delicious broth, it had a decent amount of spice but not enough to take away from the quality of the dish. It was excellent!Overall our food and appetizers were next to excellent, portions were large and shareable as is tradition in most Asian cuisine, wait staff were friendly and attentive but not overbearing, and the general atmosphere/decor was excellent! If you’re craving great food Id definitely recommend Legend of Szechuan :)
Saturday night and was able to get a table quickly. Service was prompt and courteous. So many delicious options on the menu. Tried the fried rice, sweet & sour pork, dumplings and spicy shrimp.I have never had such a flavor explosion in my mouth! Truly impressive. Definitely one of the most authentic chinese restaurants I've been to. More people should give this a try. Highly recommend.
If you see this comment, I really urge not to go to this store, when I walked in, the attitude of the male waiter was very uncomfortable. After ordering the food, I was like a beggar and rushed me to the door to wait for the food. When I got the food and came home, they didn't even give me chopsticks. I really didn't understand what business they were doing. After opening the dish, it felt like putting the whole salt into the dish. After spending $30 for dinner, I had to throw it in the trash.
I stop by this place based on the reviews I saw on google and yelp. I had the pork spare rib dry pot and the zingy shrimp. The food was excellent and the service was good. I’m glad I found a place that has authentic tasting Chinese food. Definitely coming back
Happened upon Legend last night while walking around Eugene. They have quite the eccentric menu! They aren't doing much dine in right now so I don't think they were really prepared for the two or three couples they were serving but the food was good. The dry pot was fun with the fire burning under it. The short ribs were delicious. The dish with the little steamed bun sandwiches was fun and different. Kind of hard to eat but neat. I can't say that I've ever had these flavors all together. The ribs had a curry base that I didn't expect but they were very enjoyable. We'll be back here for sure.
I have been searching high and low for a local place with great dumplings and I have been hesitant to pick a place, but my cravings were too much yesterday so I finally just picked a restaurant. I made a good choice in Legend of Szechuan. We ordered 4 items: Xiaolong bao, Jade Dumplings, Pork Bun, and Beef Dumplings (can't have too much of a good thing I guess ??♀️)Anyway, I wanted to ordered a lot and a mix, we are a family of 4 and have some picky eaters amongst my toddlers. The XLB and the Pork Buns were my favorite. The broth of the XLB was really flavorful, and the Pork bun was eaten too quickly, I just wish there was more! My partner loved the Jade dumplings and I can see why - there was a great distribution of the nappa and pork. My 1 year old loved the beef dumplings, she mostly ate the dumpling itself and I know it was because of the dough texture- she's been teething so I think it was fun for her to eat.Anyway, if you're looking for some yummy dumplings I highly recommend trying out LoS?Photo is of the lonely Xiaolong bao left when I remembered I probably should take a photo for the review.
Very spacious and well kept restaurant. Employees are courteous and quick with their service. Food is absolutely delicious and good size portions for the price. Had Szechuan dumplings and Ka Pow chicken- both were great with ample amounts of sauce(enough to place on rice). Will definitely be going back soon
Amazing Szechuan Chinese food. The flavor and spice combination were as close to perfect as I have experienced in this food tradition. The dry pot spare ribs were perfect and meaty. Can't miss housemade dumplings and noodles!
Really really good food! The dandan noodles appetizer is wonderful! The Szechuan dumplings are top notch! I wouldn't say that anything is particularly spicy but I found that people around here think things are spicy that are not particularly spicy. The duck was texturally good but somewhat lacking in flavor! This restaurant and Royal India restaurant are the only two restaurants I've been in Eugene that I actually walk out thinking that the meal was really good! Definitely will come back over and over again!
