Has always been great.Been awhile since we have visited do to COVID. Disappointed in the food today. My home fries were burnt on the bottom, and was very obvious. Had to ask for another serving for myself , and friend. The lady sitting next to me had a grilled sandwich and looked burnt as well. Service was very good, just need a different cook.
I tried GF pancakes, which were as delicious as any pancakes I've ever eaten. My brother always has salmon Benedict with Glenwood potatoes as his side and thinks both are great.Service is always friendly and attentive but not clingy.
You can read a ton of top rated reviews, here and on the internet, so I will only agree, wholeheartedly, with them: the food, service, menu selections are all fantastic... but I'm not sure how many will tell you this: take an appetite!I have taken home leftovers so many times because the portions were so generous! I mean, when they say 'stack' of pancakes, beware these things *cover* like 90% of the area of a full size dinner plate! 0_0 ...and they're thick, too! ...like 3/4 to a full inch in the middle!!Now, granted... I don't eat like a teenager any more...and we usually order three sides of bacon between two people (...SO thick...and SO ~tay-hay-stee~!!...com'on...BACON!!!)...and there's lots of coffee involved...always...but STILL...go hungry...and/or don't order too much your first time round.Unless you like leftovers. =)
I'm giving two stars for the service, the waitress was on spot, very personable and nice. The food ( biscuits and gravy) were uneatable, the gravy was full of fat globs and the biscuits were dry. I won't eat here again. Gravy is so easy to make.
Today was the first time we’ve tried the Glenwood on Willamette Street. We walked in and were greeted and I had told the gal that this was our first time coming to the restaurant. We were seated and our server came to our table and was kind and said that she had been told that this was our first time. The gal took our order, the soup was brought out and it was the wrong soup, we had to ask another server to help us get the correct soup. The soup was brought out and it was cold/luke warm. We had to ask for the soup to be warmed up. We waited over 15 minute and the soup was never brought back. My side salad was just a hand full of lettuce with two sliced beats, nothing more. We were upset at the mess up on the soups and not having the warmed up soup brought back . We were so bummed that we finally got to try food at the Glenwood and this was our first experience. We will not come back. We got up and left and went to Applebee’s and our food and service were outstanding. Thank you Applebee’s for another great meal.Sincerely,Mary and Tim
The Glenwood is my go to after my acupuncture treatment on Sunday's. I LOVE the 13th Street Scramble and usually bring home 1/2 of it for later. Servers are always nice and accommodating. Five Stars from me!
Went on a Thursday morning. Ordered coffee and got warm coffee. Our food was cold and they may have gone a bit overboard with cooking with oil. Couldn't choke down the food and Our server was busy chatting with other regulars to care about us.. another server only checked up on us when it was time to pay. Very disappointed it really takes a lot to foe me to write a bad review. This says something about their service and quality of food. Must be a regular to get good service.
My plate was warm but my food was cold. They do really well with turn & burn and the staff was pretty nice. Will give them a 2nd chance.
Such a shame to leave this review. Always had a soft spot for this place, the food is reliably delicious. However, today we made an online order and our food was 40 mins late being ready, on top of a 40 min expected wait time (according to the website). When we arrived to pick it up at the scheduled time there was no communication from staff about how long we still had to wait. The restaurant was not busy, wait staff were not rushing and there were empty tables. Dine in customers were told to expect a 40 minute wait after being seated.I appreciate that staffing is a problem for retail and hospitality right now, but maybe switching off online orders would be a good idea if you don't have the staffing to cover it, or add clear disclaimers about the expected delay when ordering. Or maybe its a hint that what they offer for employment isn't that attractive.Another little annoyance was that there wasn't an instruction on the online ordering that we should expect a text when the order is ready. Knowing that in advance would have saved us sitting in the car waiting for 40 minutes.Overall, like I said, a real shame to see somewhere that has been a favourite for a while go so downhill.
Hearty and innovative menu. Be sure you come here with a good appetite. Reasonable prices. Outdoor seating.
