Came here with friends on Saturday 7/9 we were in a party of 8. The restaurant location is great and it is a beautiful place. I am giving 2 stars for the drinks only. We checked on the website before coming so we were prepared for price and to have our orders ready when we left. We had found out that the prices online are wrong they have increased. $6 happy hour drinks are now $8 and tacos went from $4 to $4.95. The drinks are very good but the food is very bland unfortunately! If you are coming here get drinks only and sit outside or in the little room to the side of the patio as the restaurant is very noisy.
EUGENE LOCATION: Unfortunately, I don’t think we can recommend it. We went when they first opened a couple of months ago and it was great! We went for the second time last night and it wasn’t good. The tacos were cold when they arrived to the table and the marinades of the different meats (pork belly, mole, etc.) tasted like slightly seasoned water. Our guess is that there might be a new chef or who knows. We were very disappointed. Margaritas are still great, however.
I don't leave very many negative reviews, and most of the bad reviews on here have the same points. But, the food is bad, not disappointing, but bad. And expensive. For $5.75 per taco, a la carte, the need to all be good, and only one of the 7 our table tried was. The Margaritas are expensive and not very good, the chips have a weird spice on them, and the salad is flavorless. We spent over $200 to have a bad meal that we couldn't wait to leave. The staff, while friendly, was still very slow. The venue is nice, and the over all atmosphere is great, but I won't be going back.
Went in last night on a date at 9pm as a party of 2 and was told there was a 20 min wait for the next round of seating. We gave our phone number and were told we'd receive a text. No text or even a callout of our name 45 min later. We finally asked to be seated. Got the table at 10pm.No apology for being forgotten about.Drinks were out fast but food took 30+ min. Received the check on our table 15 min into our meal. We finished eating at 11pm. We would have happily come back another time if we were made aware of a 1.5 hour wait to get food in front of us.The food was fresh and the server was knowledgeable about the menu. I really enjoyed my rib skillet but the chicken tortilla soup was flavorless. My boyfriend thought his food needed more seasoning too. We're pretty disappointed about our date night and won't be back.
They deserve more stars. The food and drinks were all top notch. They were gluten free and vegan friendly. They even made adjustments where needed to support my allergies. Our server, Tiffany, really made the experience too. She had quick, great suggestions upon hearing it was our first time there. She was clearly staying cool headed and friendly while juggling a lot of things. She almost seemed like a mind reader at times. Thank you so much.
We went for the first time and ate inside. An average experience at best.Very loud. Not a place to have a conversation. The food had quality ingredients but lacked flavor and spice. The house margarita was overloaded with ice but the flavor was good. Tacovore has it beat hands down!
Came here for our friend's birthday! Had a while event of about 24 people and had such a great time! The atmosphere is awesome and I have to give all the extra praise to our server Sammy. She was able to be on us and deliver great service with a great personality. This can definitely be added to the list of favorites. There was a drink with coconut milk and passion fruit that I would big time recommend!
The reviews of this place after opening weren’t favorable. I assume it was because they were trying to work things out after recently opening . We went with our adult kids to happy hour on a Friday evening. It was really amazing! They sat us at one of the couch areas. Ordered margaritas and other drinks and got three (free with drinks) orders of chips and salsa throughout our dinner. The tropical one was the best! The tacos ? were also really great. They are gourmet kind of like Tacovore here in Eugene. Staff was friendly and service was prompt. We went at 4:30 and on a weekend I would recommend that! It was really getting crowded by the time we left! Another cool addition to 5th St!
Food was good!!!The idea that right after they sat us inside, a table opened out on the patio, which we had asked for. But..... they said it is management rules that no one can change tables!.What is this....kindergarten?It must be because the margaritas had no Tequila at all. We had to buy extra shots just to make them taste like margaritas. So don't expect much at this restaurantI will say the pork belly tacos were delicious! It's also very bad customer service to only respond to positive reviews.
Carlita's Eugene turned out to be just as amazing as Carlita's Pearl! Highly recommend. The service, the food, the ambiance... everything flows perfectly!
