We went to the Brails on 5th location because the other Brails location looked packed. They got us in within about 15 minutes -- it's a popular place. Breakfast was very good and worth the wait. It's a small place so was kind of crowded, but the wait staff all did a great job.
The omelets were cooked and folded perfectly and the pancakes were delicious. The setup and ambience could use some work but the food was good.
Went here on a Saturday morning so granted it was busy and I understand that. We asked for mimosas and just never received them. I asked for a coffee and the waitress just never got it, I ended up having to ask the food runner for one after we got our food. The hash browns were cold which is whatever, my boyfriends Brails omelette was unseasoned and very bland. I got the eggs Benedict and they were actually tasty. When we got our check we were charged for the mimosas we never received, which the waitress fixed after we asked. Overall shoddy service and meh food. Several people have recommended this place so maybe that was a fluke incident but currently have no plans to return.
This place has great comfort breakfast and great friendly service! Don't go too late on the weekends as you will probably wait in line... If the parking lot is full you might have to park by a meter. Oh and the eggs Benedict is awesome!
After a morning of walking around Eugene with our yeti coffee mugs, we came upon Brail’s at the right time. We shared an omelette, breakfast potatoes and an extra large cinnamon roll. Or was it a cinnamon bun? We actually debated that and the jury is still out… ?The coffee was good and hot and our server even offered to fill our to-go mugs on our way out. Service was friendly, the place was clean, the food was good. It topped off a perfect morning in Eugene.
Brails is a bit of an institution in Eugene. Classic diner fare, and they do it well. Staff was excellent and very prompt. Had the veggie benedict today and asked for the house potatoes well done. It was all very good. Hit the spot. Breakfast with coffee was $16 plus tip.
This was my first time at this location. The restaurant was slow. I was sat promptly. But 10 minutes later, after multiple employees walk past me. The waitress finally came over and said as I was leaving, "are you ready to order?" She did not ask if I wanted something to drink. She did not greet me like "good morning".My coffee was cold from waiting to ask for real half and half since it was the Buster who gave me my water and coffee. I was planning on taking my order to go and enjoy hot coffee while I waited. I was on a limited time schedule. Unfortunately this location, I will never go to again. The worst of it all is right around the corner from where I was sitting, I could listen to the staff chatting and talking rather than serving their tables.I was a waitress for 40 years. I work in every aspect of a restaurant. Even running the restaurant. Unfortunately service this day seems to be far and few between. If it's bad when they're slow. I Can Only Imagine how terrible it must be when they're busy here.
My last visit was disappointing. The food was, as always great, but we seemed to be more of an afterthought to the servers. It sucks to feel like a burden, when you go out. Finished my hot chocolate before the food arrived and my water almost half way through my meal and was asked if I wanted more water as I finished. Even getting seated seemed to be an annoyance. Just pointed to a table adjoined to another table that people were already seated at and eating.
They have the best omelets and service. Then again my brother-in-law works there so there's that. Lol
I love this place. My daughter and I go here every week and have breakfast together. Staff is super friendly and kind
