Good food. Realy enjoy the nacho fries. Being a bar its got a good selection of drinks. Few spills here and there, but what can you expect. Relatively clean though. Staff is nice, and prompt.
While often busy due to it being a popular student hangout, the food is quite good (better than McMenamin's in my opinion). The mac and cheese is a bit salty, but their burgers are good and they have solid fries.
Love the hot sauce which they serve with tater tots. Please tell me the name of the sauce I’m craving for it
I was thoroughly grilled about my service to the point of light discrimination. It could just be uninformed, but still bothered me. Otherwise I enjoyed the atmosphere and the $3.50 pumpkin ale on mondays.
It is a great to relax and chat in the open air area available at the Downward Dog. Tangerine Ale is a good choice if you like wheat beer. I do recommend the French fries. ?
Ordered the basic cheeseburger and it was excellent. The only thing that would make it perfect is the addition of pickles. The fries could not have been more perfect.
The downward dog used to be called the red fox cafe back when I was a student at OSU. Good vibes, small dive bar.
It's a niche bar for sure. 90% Oregon State University students on any given night. That is what some people are looking for, for sure.. I personally appreciated my most recent visit which was very mellow Monday night. Monday nights don't offer much for eating out in Corvallis so my partner and I decided to get a late night snack at Downward Dog. The service was great, the food was pretty much what we expected, but having a good bartender who played solid tunes made it a well rounded experience. For us, it was what we were hoping for.
Amazing FOOD! For how cheap it's hamburger is, it's heavenly. The drinks are creative too, as well as the atmosphere!
Holy flubbing moly! Amazing chicken ceaser salad, epic burgers, friendly staff, full bar, beers on special and lovely outdoor seating. I will definitely be back again.
