Well, Murphy’s on the water….is not on the water. I was looking for a nice romantic place on the water to have dinner with my Wife. But alas, no water. Kinda noisy for a romantic dinner.Food was good. Service was great, friendly and efficient. Will probably return again, but not for a nice dinner on the water.

Food are absolutely disappointed, with expensive price. You can tell the seafood is not really fresh, alcohol are horrible, and the meat are just okay, I can actually spend this money on a nicer restaurant!!!And the waiter charge my card twice and didn’t charge my friend card!!! WT….

If I could put zero stars I would. Quite literally the worst meal I have ever had in Corvallis and I have eaten at a lot of places in Corvallis. My lemonade was warm. I got the chicken wrap and the chicken had no flavor like it was old. The chicken was also cold. My boyfriend got a burger and you could’ve got a better burger at McDonald’s. Not to mention the patty was way over cooked and very thin for a $14 burger. The garlic parm fries were plain fries with clumpy shredded parmesan and minced garlic like you get out of a jar. ALSO they change 4% of your bill if you use a credit/debit card. That’s just the cost of doing business and they are putting that on their customers. Save yourself the stomach ache and go somewhere else.

All in all, this was a good restaurant. It didn’t receive a 5 for a few reasons.1. I have never been to a restaurant that did not offer water to the table.2. Overpriced for what you get3. Paper napkins???For a place to charge 28$ for a steak I would kind of expect to at least have a nice napkin.. I ordered the NY strip medium rare. The cook on it was slightly over, which I can understand as someone who grills often. No big deal. The char was great. I had about1-1.5 oz of pure fat which was inedible. To be expected with this type of cut. My baked potato was served plain, with green onion, butter and sour cream on the side. It was also undercooked, still hard. Seems like they want to up charge you for cheese? Kind of odd.My wife ordered the 12 oz prime rib medium rare. The cook on it was great, but I think the meat they used was subpar. It came out looking a bit grey for a prime rib. She enjoyed it regardless. The whipped potatoes looked much better than their baked in case you are on the fence between the two.One other oddity, was that they charge a 3.84% service charge on cards for payment. As someone who works at a credit union I understand that Visa charges per transaction. However, to pass this off to your customers AND round UP is kind of shady.Aside from a small wait to be seated, the service was good. Our server was attentive and polite, which always makes for a good experience. I write honest reviews in hopes the business takes constructive criticism well so that the next patron has a slightly better experience. There are other restaurants I would prefer to go to next time.-Alex

Steak was cold and cook did not know difference medium rare and medium well …prime rib not available on prime rib night….ran out at 6:30pm. Steakhouse without steak is like KFC running out of chicken. Atmosphere was good as well as the company. I am sure it was just an off night for the cook…except for the no prime rib left. That was planned or Bait put together by owner/management to get you in. 2 stars because of the obvious fake “prime rib night”.

We couldn’t talk with friends over the annoying loud music. It’s such a pretty spot by the river and the decor is nice but the screeching loud music ruined it for me. I ordered fish tacos specifically because the description said the tortillas were grilled…they were not grilled and weren’t even warm. The fish was tough and terrible. I know restaurants are struggling now so I hate saying this but our experience was so disappointing.

Wow, long time since I've had 5 star food in Corvallis. It's a very pleasant surprise! Got the Onion rings and a burger with extras based on the reviews and they were above average but then I saw the Ahi on the bottom of his menu and ordered it hoping! GREAT SLAW SALAD, AWESOME NOODLE ENTRE' AND HIS DIPPING SAUCES AND AHI WERE DONE TO PERFECTION, STILL VERY RARE WITH A NICE GRILLING FINISH ON THEM. BRAVO!

Had the steamer clam, ribeye and NY steak.— Steamer clam is good, steamed in the butter garlic sauce, and the taste of the sauce is really balanced, the two pieces of bread are also good, dipping into the sauce is the way to eat it.— the two steaks are also good, although there’s nothing special about it. Very standard grilled steak.Overall, the restaurant is good. After comparing with other “fancy” restaurants in town, they have the best “cost performance”.The photo looks good right? My girl friend is a pretty good photographer :)

Murphy's Tavern used to be our neighborhood gathering place when it was located down the street. Since their current location on the waterfront is no longer in walking distance my visits are much more sporadic. Earlier this summer, my wife and I stopped by for some of Murphy's delicious fish tacos (discribed on the menu as Meat without Feet). The service was above par and the tacos outstanding.Recently a friend and I decided on Murphy's for a late lunch, arriving just as the owner and one waitperson unlocked the doors for the day (3:00). Normally this would be a slow part of the day but several other parties had the same idea, so the waitress had her hands full greeting people, taking orders and serving drinks. We were not in a rush and waiting until she had a chance to take our order. Murphy's was kind enough to substitute a small salad for the French fries that normally accompany one of the burgers. They were also accommodating enough to serve that burger wrapped in lettuce, rather than a bun. The only issue was that they reversed the order and served the wrong hamburger with lettuce, plus both were served with fries (we did get the salad, too). We chose not to send them back and have them re-made, it was an honest mistake.

I love this restaurant. Everytime I have been there it has been such a pleasant experience. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and have good knowledge of the menu and specials. They always have a tasty, homemade looking dessert in the case up front.I have celiac disease and they have quite a few menu items to cater to this and a bonus is if you tell them they will take extra steps to ensure your food's safety. I have never been sick after eating there.
