I've been to better sushi spots and I've been to worse. The staff is always friendly and professional and their Japanese Whiskey Sour is solid, if not a little too sweet. The sushi isn't anything to phone home about, but it is tasty and is very consistent. It's worth mentioning twice that the staff do a great job of making you feel welcome.
First, the staff was friendly, and the Sapporo was ice cold. As for the sushi, it was unfortunately the worst I have ever had from a restaurant. The rice was undercooked and soggy, and each roll just felt "heavy". ("Gut bomb" is probably the best word). The fish was clammy. And the price was exorbitant. I use the Rainbow roll as my barometer for cost at any sushi place, since they all have it, and it is plain. Here, it was around $18. For sushi that is not good. I am actually shocked at the 5 star reviews.
We have been going here for years. Then they updated the restaurant , raised their prices a lot but did not raise the quality of food. If you are looking for big bowls of ramen this is pretty good. If you are looking for great sushi…look at other places around Bend.
Beautiful presentation and the taste is beyond! Lovely view to sit by the window and watch it snow while sipping hot tea and feasting on fabulous food
Ate here for dinner today and I will not be back. My fiancé and I got miso soup, mixed tempura, spider roll, and Las Vegas roll. Our mixed tempura was poorly cooked, the green beans were burnt, the squash was under cooked and hard. The tempura batter was also thick and soggy when it should be crispy. The tempura battered soft shell crab in my spider roll was ice cold I couldn’t even swallow it. The sushi rice was hard in both our rolls. Everything here was edible but not good by any means. The only good thinghere was the service and the only reason for the two stars.
Generous bento boxes is one of the key attractions of this Japanese restaurant chain. Prices are very reasonable, servers were very attentive and friendly. Located in Highway 97, right in the middle of a large shopping complex.
The service is amazing. The food is beyond delicious. And family friendly!

I have been there numerous times the service can be really hit or mess but the food is usually really good tonight‘s rice was extremely overcooked though in the sushi. It was extremely mushy.This is out of character for them though.
