An okay experience. The food was good but not standout. The wine list is good but marked up a bit. Service was marginal and the staff inexperienced. It almost feels as though they are attempting to open a higher-end Italian restaurant in a space that was a higher-end seafood restaurant and are relying a bit on the ambiance of the previous space and their sister restaurant downtown... versus creating a stand-alone unique and quality experience.I understand it may be difficult with COVID and finding staff, but when the total dining cost is approximately $125+ per person there is an expectation that the experience should be better than average. This was not it. Maybe try it again in a year to see if they can create something.
We were so excited to visit Nome after all the good reviews and booked a month before to go for a family birthday. Sadly, I wasn't as impressed as I was excited. The food was really good (nice and hot!) but not memorable. We had the cacciucco, wild boar pasta, margarita pizza, Caesar salad and Tiramisu (which was out of this world and the best thing we tried).Sadly, they were not prepared for a birthday (no candles) but came out with a toothpick to light and then included the dessert on the bill. (Party foul). If you are going to spend $350 on a fine dining meal (4 adults,1 child) - you would expect them to have their special occasions down. Lastly the tables were packed tight and acoustics loud. Nice atmosphere but honestly if you want the best, try Trattoria Sbandati instead.
Bend can be overwhelming with marvelous restaurant choices, Nome was certainly an excellent choice. I ordered the Cacciucco Alla Puttanesca, a clam/lobster dish with fennel. Beautifully prepared and served. My family was equally satisfied with the wild boar dish and they accommodated the two and half year old with a delightful pasta dish. The ambiance reminded me of comforts of a well established and seasoned eatery, the staff was timely and professional making for a very relaxed and enjoyable evening. I honestly can not recommend Nome enough to truly do them justice. Well done Nome, till be meet again.
We enjoyed our meal which ran about $500 for four of us and we brought our own wine. The Tiramisu we very good with a good lathering of Dulce or something like it on top. The big steak was great too. The one thing I can't get over because it is not rooted in anything that is impacted by inflation is the corkage fee. We have been out of the country for the winter but the news said we were at 9% inflation. It looks to be closer to 100% in the Bend restaurant scene. We opened two bottles and when the bill is over $500 we don't get charged for all of the corkage in most restaurants but in this one we did and it was $35 a bottle. Head scratcher...
Solid across the board. I started with the oysters, They were maybe my favorite part of the meal. My only regret is being so full from enjoying my entree that I didn’t have room for tiramisu. Next time for sure!
Been waiting for a good Italian restaurant to open in Bend for years. This place has potential but hasn't gotten there yet.Calamari - Overcooked and chewy. Flavor was good.Rigatoni - Solid 2 stars for a $48 pasta dish. Tastes were conflicting. Tiny portion. Truffle usually makes any dish incredible but seemed out of place with the flavors in the dish and sauce.Pizza - 5 stars fantastic!Panna cotta - 1 star. Just not good.
Best tiramisu I’ve ever had… like straight from a dream. Incredible pappardelle and risotto also!!
Incredible experience. Authentic foods, genuine service, and a high end feel. Thoroughly impressed by what these masterminds have put together after such other great successes in Bend. I look forward to their continued success in Nome Italian.
Honestly, some of the best Italian food in bend. Amazing flavor and atmosphere. PLEASE TRY IT, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!
The food is amazing, well crafted and amazingly flavored. It is clear that the chef has spent many hours crafting the menu, as I have eaten here a few times, and each item is delicious. I can't wait to come here again with the family, truly a well run establishment.
