Our dinner experience was quite strange unfortunately… we reserved a seat at the bar and the bartender gave us some very strange remarks and sass that definitely effected how we enjoyed our first dinner date in a few months. I was very displeased with his rudeness and constant belittling of our questions on the menu. We will not be attending this restaurant again.

Bos Taurus is a small and expensive steakhouse located in downtown Bend. The industrial chic dining room is equally divided between and upstairs loft and the downstairs bar and table area. Both areas are noisy. Our server brought us a complementary glass of bubbly to help us celebrate our anniversary. Instead of a basket of boring bread, every diner starts off with a warm popover delivered to their table. Yum! We split a 'compressed' Caesar salad that was saturated with a creamy and garlicky dressing. If you're in the mood for conspicuous consumption, you can order grilled Wagyu beef by the ounce, and served with tweezers. Instead, we ordered the Allen Bros 30oz porterhouse for two. Tender, delicious, and perfectly medium rare, it was one of the best steaks we've ever had in a restaurant. And the browned butter bearnaise sauce was a perfect complement. The wine list here is tailored to complement the steakhouse menu and most bottles run north of $100. There is a $35 corkage fee if you want to bring a special bottle from home. This is a special occasion place and they certainly know their beef. And we liked the steak knife selection ceremony.

it was a very special experience. From Damon, our server, to dessert, all were excellent. Food was great overall as expected. We got the relatively cheap one--the 16 oz ribeye from the AZ farm--but my almost-vegetarian daughter loved it and said it was the best steak in her life. The appetizer bread was served right out of the oven, and the ice cream was the best. I've tasted good ice cream in Korea, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, and many states in US, but this is just different. It's hard to explain. Just visit there and try.

I made reservations through Tock. I then took the time to call and request specific seating in a booth. I spoke w a live person who confirmed. Upon arriving. We were told the bigger tables are for 4 people so we were smooshed in a corner. 5 minutes later a couple was seated rightacrossfromus in a 4 person spposed seating. What a blatant lie! Here are some simple suggestions 1. Don't confirm a seat if you can't honor it! 2. Don't renig on the confirmation and then seat 2 people right across from us in a 4 seater when you told us you don't do that! Of course this left a bad taste in our mouth before we could even taste the sub par food! Unprofessional

Our initial greeting was luke warm, bordering on frigid, because the man who greeted us assumed (incorrectly) that we had not made reservations. His attitude 100% changed when he found out otherwise. So if you're planning on eating here make reservations well in advance.Beyond the first impression we were given our experience was absolutely divine. We each recieved a glass of bubbly because we were celebrating our anniversary, and the bartender and waitstaff were great at keeping conversation moving and highly knowledgeable of their menu items. The food is epic on many levels. Yes its expensive buy you will NOT regret trying the A5, it melts in your mouth. The market fish dish changes based on availability so make sure you ask what it is, and the chicken marsala is so flavorful you'll want to lick your dish clean. If you're looking for an amazing starter go with the marrow, it's unexpected but in a good way, the oysters are a little on the small side to be charged $4 each but the sauce on it makes up for that. The smoked Manhattan is a must, or give the old fashioned a whirl, and enjoy a very pleasant foodie experience.(4 stars because of our greeting, food is definitely 5 stars)

Great experience and amazing food. I just think the drinks were extremely overpriced. At an average of 17 per drink , the tap quickly rose to $275. Well worth it for a 2x a year experience.

Amazon place for a date night. Fun cocktails, amazing selection of steaks (and knives), great, cozy ambiance. Get the brussel sprouts - they are fantastic and sharable.

The steaks were pretty good, but dont quite meet up with the standards at a similarly priced steakhouse in a major city. The sides left something to be desired as none of the 3 we ordered had a tremendous amount of taste. I felt the food was slightly overpriced for what it was.The service was excellent, however. The staff is very attentive and makes sure to bring you anything you need very quickly. Being able to choose your knife is pretty cool, and the wait staff does a great job of explaining the differences between the knives.

Fabulous atmosphere, wonderful steaks and amazing staff. Great restaurant for a celebration of any kind!

I made the mistake of ordering the dry aged Holstein Ribeye. I did not enjoy the flavor, and it was over salted, Ready for a northwest grassfed Angus steak from MOC after that. My wife enjoyed her Filet. Most red wines on the menue are young and I felt overpriced.
