MOD is a go to place if you want a custom made to order pizza. They have several sauces to choose from, a variety of cheeses and toppings, salads, breadsticks, a wide selection of drinks and even their no name cake for dessert. Pizza is cooked in a brick oven for that charred, crispy but chewy dough texture. This beats your ordinary pizza joint. They also offer a great curbside service along with dine in and carry out.
This was a 5 star review until today. This reduced rating has nothing to do with the people, the food, the service. All of those are great. This reduction in review is because I placed an order online, was told it would be ready in 15 minutes, showed up 5 minutes early, and am being told I still have another 30 minutes to wait. This reduction in review is because ordering online is supposed to circumvent wait times. If my food will be ready in 45 minutes then don't tell me 15 minutes. Tell me 45 minutes. Give me the chance to cancel my order, not order at all, place the order, but delay when I'm heading over, something... This review edit is for the online ordering only so that people know that it's not trustworthy and to perhaps call in advance of placing an online order to make sure how long it will really take.
It’s sad to see the customer service decline so poorly at this location. Being made to wait an additional 30 minutes after arriving on time for my take-out order. No apology was made or offered.To top it off…all three pizzas were made incorrectly.
Today I got off work and ordered a pizza, I arrived at the same time they told me that it would be ready. I then had to wait THIRTY MINUTES after the time they said it would be ready, while watching multiple walk in orders being made and sent out before mine. I worked at a pizza place in high school, so I know how it’s supposed to work and I also know how insulting it would have been if one of our call in customers had to wait longer than someone who didn’t call ahead and therefore being less proactive. I try to tip everywhere I go, and I’m not going to stop coming here as it’s on my way home from work, I’ll just compensate for their incompetence by ordering even earlier. But I’ll definitely never be tipping here again, the staff here doesn’t deserve it for taking so long and having garbage order priority.
The lines can be a little long here during rush hour but otherwise their service is fast and the pizza is great. Staff have always been friendly.
These kids working here have ZERO work ethic and pride in the work. My Recent interaction they drug my pizza dough across the counter and when asked if they could fold the extra up or cut it off they scoffed at me like it was a extra hassle. Skip to the end and instead of nicely folding the sides in the box before closing, instead they shoved the box lid down on the edges smashing the pizza crust. This is NOT the first time this location has had issues.
Great pizza, unfortunately not celiac safe. I knew the disclaimer and took the risk. Ended up getting glutened. Would still recommend to non-celiacs though!
Worst MOD in Portland. This one is closest to my house and I still somehow give in to coming here. Dude who was working online to go orders tonight was rude. My order said it would be ready at 6:45 pm and when I got there about that time his response was “oh, we’re behind it’s gonna be another 25 min”, I said ok fine (cause what can I really do) and after it’s been 30 min I checked on it again I got attitude. Then when I finally called my name he just handed me the pizza and didn’t say anything. I ordered my pizza at 6:27 and got it at 7:19. No apology what so ever.
I've ordered delivery from this location twice since my regular location is temporarily closed, but both times it has come without a delivery seal and the cutting job is awful. Both times it has been cut into 6 pieces as it's meant to be, but the make up is more like 2/4 and 4/8. This makes it very difficult to eat the larger pieces. I also get nervous about no delivery deals as it makes it easy for the food to be tampered with without me knowing. I know other nearby locations use these seals.
Don't do mobile orders! We didn't get our cold pizza. :(We ordered two pizzas for pickup, and the pickup counter was so disorganized, our pizzas sat behind the pickup counter for at least 25 minutes, after it was ready.Let me be clear; we placed the order, waited for the estimated completion time, saw it marked "complete" in the app, then we went to the counter and waited an additional 25 minutes.They'd cooked it fast, marked it ready for pickup, and put it in the box. It was sitting on the shelf that entire time, along with 10-20 other pizzas and salads that had people waiting for them. It sat so long that other people were able to get in line, order, and get their food, all while our pizzas got cold on the shelf. We asked for our food twice in this span of time; but the guy at the counter just said he'd "have it to us as soon as he could" (There was only one employee handling to-go orders, with a dozen other employees making pizzas)We were running late at that point, so we didn't even get to pick up the food we paid for :(I don't think I'm gonna ever do a to-go or delivery order here again.
