Maiale catered a welcome picnic for us on July 2, 2022 at Hoyt Arboretum and I could not have been happier! The pizza was so good and unique and all our guests raved about it! The salad was also delicious! Thank you Brett!!

An interesting pizza experience. While the crust is good, and it is cooked well, the flavors and recipe ratios are... Questionable. We got the fungi and the arriabiatta. The mushroom one did not have much flavor, very low on truffle oil, the strongest flavor on the pizza was this one soft cheese that we didnt know what it was when we ordered, assuming it couldnt be too bad. It had a very funky taste and we had to wipe it off. Otherwise, the flavor left much to be desired. The arriabatta was almost a hit, it had the right stuff and the right flavors except it was completely overpowered with goat cheese. I have never seen any restaurant be so generous with goat cheese, but the problem wad that in all the (much) area that the goat cheese took over, you could not even taste the arriabatta which was disappointing. The basil amount on the other hand. Was great.

This place hit the spot. I had the margherita pizza. Chewy but soft crust, the perfect sweet tomato sauce and yummy parm...I'm already dreaming of the next time. Friendly service too ☺️

Whoa. Vegan pizza. Best in Portland?? I think it might be. Totally surprised us, as we’ve tried every veg pizza place in town & this was a last minute choice from what was open the night we ordered. Well, it’s now going to be our go-to. So THANK YOU for the amazing ‘za (highly recommend the marg pizza with vegan cheese!), garlic knots with vegan parm, and the freshest marinara we’ve had in a long time.

I have been searching for good pizza in oregon for 6 years (since I moved into the state) and haven’t been able to find it… until now. This is by far the best pizza I have ever had the privilege of eating (and it’s not close). From the customer service, employee knowledge, their ingredients and ownership; Maiale is from start to finish the best place to get a true pie in the entire state. I had an amazing conversation with the owner (who was making the pies himself personally) and it truly felt like I was at home in a traditional Italian kitchen. For small businesses, this one is a gem and is in the highest tier possible. Little to no marketing to insure amazing product. Truly an amazing experience all the way around. This is the only pizza spot I will even think about going to from now on. Thank you so much to Maiale for the amazing experience. I cannot wait until next time ?

I want to start by saying that we love Pizza. Every where we go, from the East Coast to the West Coast and everywhere in between, we try the local small business pizzas. We love this place! The pizzas were amazing. Very high quality ingredients. Extremely reasonable prices. I saw some reviews complaining about the price and all I have to say is, you get what you pay for. Not sure what kind of pizzas those people are used to but it must not be great. Trust me, the prices are more than generous here. The quality is top notch. We bought two Pizzas. The Quattro Formaggi and the Salsiccia Picante Italiana. So delicious. The tomato sauce is light and bright. Perfect! Generous portions as well. This pizza was so good that decided to order a Margherita for later. It didn't make it home. It was eaten immediately. The only negative is that we live 4.5 hours away but when we are in the area again. We absolutely will come back . This is a hidden gem I think everyone should try!!! 10 stars

Asked for a pizza with sausage and pepperoni and was told “No, only one meat per pizza because that is old world Italian style. There was nobody in the place and you just lost a sale of 2 pizzas today and this review. Sometimes you should let the customer get what they want and let them be the reason they are not satisfied. Less than enthusiastic when we walked in and was kinda proud that we walked out without a pizza. I will share this by word of mouth also. Then we went to the new Sizzle Pie and got some awesome slices the way we without an attitude.

Great pizza, with nicely done crust and excellent ingredients. The Capra Arrabbiata with 'nduja is spicy and means business. We got the classic cesar and arugula salads, both dressed well and fresh.

Pretty good pizza. The pies all come in one size which makes ordering easy. I would recommend one pie per person. The service is great, very friendly staff. How're, the price is a little spendy. But definitely worth a try if you like a thin blistered crust.

Ordered the SALSICCIA PICCANTE ITALIANAOG tomato sauce, italian sausage, sweet onion, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella, provolone, parmesan, oregano.Excellent pizza! Great dough, fresh sauce and toppings. You can tell they care about the product they produce. It’s not in the easiest to notice place with a hard to remember name. But if you can remember their motto is ‘pizza so good pigs will fly’ just look for MAIALE ROSA Wood Fired Pizza where you see the pigs flying. You’ll be glad you sought them out. The chocolate caramel budino was awesome as well! Definitely will be back.
