I love this place. I frequented here when I lived here and it's become a required stop when I fly in from Maine.Amazing latte flavor choices and the Pig Newtons are probably my favorite thing to grab.
I used to love Jim and Patty's. They've always been somewhat inconsistent since they move through employees quicker than your average Fast food restaurant. They've always been pretty slow but, I continue to go there because although they move through employees quickly I tend to like the people they hire. They also carry hemp milk which is hard to find. I purposely seek out small independent coffee shops who provide hemp milk. I frequent 3 coffee shops, Jim and Patty's, Piper's and Haven's. I've gone to Ki coffee a couple times but they're very pretentious... Not a fun experience. But Jim and Patty's keeps raising their prices and now they are $1 to $1.50 more than the other coffee shops I just mentioned! For the exact same drink! And they're still extremely inconsistent. Today's latte tasted like water down espresso with with maybe a tiny bit of hemp milk in it which cost me $7.50 plus tip!Now I'm going to leave my house again to go get coffee at Piper's where I can guarantee a delicious latte for only $6.50.
Okay I love the product. Coffee People was one of my go to spots and I was happy when Jim and Patty decided to open shops that have some of the old stand by's from years gone. Prince Puckler ice cream shakes...black tiger coffee, and on top of the old stand by's they brought in some heavy hitter breakfast items. Sooo good....but the service is so far off what it was back in the day that it destroys the entire experience. Even when it's not busy it takes 20 minutes or so to get my morning joe. Go to any other coffee house and you will see excellance in service where people are moving around with urgency. It is also coupled with a staff that doesnt seem to know what it means to be kind. I get it foodservice is hard but a smile and common curtesy goes a long way. Coffee People got it, Dutch Bro's gets it, Peets gets it, even Starbucks where you might not get a smile but you will get your product the same way in an efficient manner every time.
The food and the coffee are good. But.. the food is SUPER SLOW to get to you. And I talking it took better than 20 min to get a half order of biscuits and gravy. There was 8 people in the store. I gave them grace the first two times this happened but I'm guessing this is the new normal here. Kinda sad as I'm pretty sure I won't be back. On the other hand, if time is something you have an abundance of, then stop by and get a decent breakfast.
Haven't had a Black Forest Mocha in years...delicious and just how i remember it. Staff was very polite and on top of the spacing/mask compliance issues. Also, barista was so accomodating with a person who asked 30+ questions but wasn't listening to the answers before finally ordering. I would have lost my sh!t...but maybe they just needed a cup of joe to wake up.
I honesty really truly love their coffee and I think they are great people and wonderful employees, but please do not ever order their salted caramel latte. It made me so violently ill because there was way too much salt.Learned my lesson
Jim and Patti's place has been great for years. A gathering friendly atmosphere with pastries and snacks, good service...a little spendy but, stop in and enjoy a break from the traffic with a really good cup of coffee.
Great coffee here, but what's with your idiotic open hours? Closing at 2 pm? Who does that? Do you make enough money off the office drones that you don't want to work any further? Is more money bad?
Listed as open on Thanksgiving. Not actually open. I couldn't find a way to contact them about it, but I'll change/remove the review once the hours are corrected so other people don't end up traveling here for nothing
Fiancee had the habanero coffee and it was really good, not overly spicy like I was expecting, and large biscuits for their breakfast sandwiches. Really a great stop for breakfast and before work. Great atmosphere as well
