Each meal has large portions for extras later. There is bunch deserts not advertised that are great. They have these strawberry cookies that are delightful. Very cozy and sell nice decorative kettles and Arabic things. Love this place.Get the goat
This used to be an authentic East African restaurant until it was bought. Now the food is over seasoned or in most cases raw. Don't make the mistake of asking them to cook anything well because they will burn in. The new owners are only interested in money. Raw meet in the drinks refrigerator, slow poor service. Sad to see that there was no effort to learn how to cook African food. Should change the name as this is no longer an African restaurant.
My wife and I were hesitant in trying this place due to the atmosphere, but this is the best food we have ever had. The owners were very kind and accommodating, they even customized personal orders for us. We would come back to Oregon just to try this place again.
First time here and love it! The food was so good! Very flavorful and tasty!! It's a cute little place.....restaurant and market place inside. They have a little of everything you can buy! Great service!!
I hate to leave a bad review because I've never had east African food before. However, I do know that it shouldn't be luke warm. The rice did not taste fresh and the beef.... well.... the texture was out of the ordinary. The sautee chicken sauqaar was heavily seasoned, in my opinion not in a good way. The seating is in the middle of a grocery store. A little awkward when people go in to shop. Customer service was good.
Hayat never fails to satisfy. The food is delicious by delivery but I should definitely stop in person by some time. The soups are splendid and the fried plantains mouth watering. Good choices of beverage too. Consistently filling and delicious. If you hate good quality meals don't come here
Two words: ah-mazing! Everything was fabulous. I had the coconut curry fish. Don't pass up on the house ginger tea or the sambusas. Thank you for the wonderful service.

The Roasted Lamb Shank recommended by Riley was absolutely great for me as a first timer at this restaurant. It was well seasoned and truly a surprise. Staff Riley did a great job servicing our group of 6.
