Robbie was such a great server. I felt valued and appreciated. He had good morning energy in a way so many restaurants lack. The menu here is large and the coffee fresh and hot. They switched to Coffee Bean International after Boyd's closed up shop in the Portland market. I think it was an improvement. This was a good experience after having kind of a poor experience at this location some time ago at dinner hours.I appreciate that Elmer's fruit is always a bit different (rarely melon!) and food presented well. This location is busy weekend brunch hours and if there are any events at the nearby sports complex.FYI, for Elmer's aficionados, this location does not have the dual fireplace dining rooms. Just one by the door you can't sit near.
Love coming to this location. We try to come for breakfast every weekend and always sit in Savanna's section. She is super attentive and always cracking jokes. Perfect start to our weekend.
This place will make you hate Cracker Barrel’s. The menu is huge. The service is excellent. The portions are large and the food is delicious! They use real thick-sliced bacon. They must use Jumbo eggs because the size of 2 scrambled eggs is equivalent to 3-4 at all other restaurants. I plan to hunt these down everywhere I go. The German pancake is awesome! The food prices are reasonable for the portions. Coffee is delicious but expensive.
Experience was okay, not good and not bad. Heres some input from experience:- There seems to be frequent issues with their card/billing service, so bring cash just in case if you wanna be in and out fast.- Another pointer from above, if you really want your food fast just order online or go somewhere else.- Servers are pretty groggy in the morning but it's understandable.- Food for cost is pretty expensive regardless of "supply chain" issues.I believe there are better alternatives if you'd like a good pancake or french toast breakfast (eg; Toms Pancake House, IHOP, Sherrys)
This was my first visit here since I've lived here (for 3 years).? And I'm so glad that I found this restaurant tucked behind the Shell station on 158th. The service was stellar, my waitress was amazing and super attentive. Had ☕ and waters for us, seconds after seated. And when the food came I was absolutely ecstatic! The food was hot, it was delivered quick after we ordered, and it tasted amazing. I had the potato cakes and bacon with two eggs and applesauce. ( Sorry no picture, cause i devoured it too quickly ?) I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone! Thank you so much Elmer's, for the great first impression! ?
Food was good!! Server Karen who started off fine, seemed a bit nervous, I figured maybe she was new. However after she brought my meal and some time had gone by, I saw her ask two other tables if they needed anything but not once asked me if I needed anything. Then when I asked for more coffee she said "Oh!", as if she forgot I was here. After she gave me coffee she disappeared until she brought another customer's food out, two tables to the left, that she then spilled all over their seat and had to remake one of their meals. By this time she still never came back once to ask me if I needed anything. After she asked EVERY other table at least twice did they need anything, she finally asked me, do I need a togo box, I said no, then she brought me the check even though I didn't ask for it, as if she was sure I wasn't ordering anything else and she was ready for me to go!! Actually I was going to order something Togo, but forget it. I have been coming to Elmer's Pancake and Steakhouses for over 20yrs have never had service this bad.
Great spot to grab breakfast I has the Mr Elmer's omelette it was delicious, you can't go wrong with Hollandaise on an omelette. I wasn't expecting it to come with a biscuit, which was delicious. The Homefries needed some work cooled a bit longer and lacked seasoning. But all in all everything was tasty after adding some Salt and Pepper. The omelette was massive and had a good amount of filling. I will definitely stop here for breakfast again when I'm in the area.
Friendly atmosphere and excellent service. The food is seasoned just right and meals are nice portions. I had breakfast for two days. Dinner was also great. The clam chowder soup and prime rib with enough gravy on mashed potatoes. You won't be disappointed eating here. Prices reasonable for dinner as well.
Normally a 5 star, but the last 2 times there, we had waitresses forget some of our order, drinks and food. Really good food, hope the service picks up its attention to detail. Wasn't even busy, for the record.
Good food good service courteous staff
