The guys running it are Awesome and Awesome food!!! Must have!!!
Can't go wrong here. All of their meats are good, but it's hard not to go with their chicken. The smell of it grilling is enough to convince me. All of their salsas are incredible and I believe are homemade. They are probably the most flavorful salsas that I drench my burritos in. Everything is very well priced. There's no going wrong here.
Delicious food. Easy ordering. Great place to go for a fast meal. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.
I have lived near El Jefe ever since they opened their food truck on the corner of Lombard and Allen, I believe three years ago. I have eaten here most likely 150-200 times over that time. I have tried most of the menu, and I have never once been disappointed. While the chicken being grilled out front is the main attraction and is delicious - the real star for me is the salsa. I believe they have 8+ options now, and I get excited every time I open one. Will continue to come here regularly, whether it is for a quick burrito after work or when I buying 2 whole chicken meals to show off for my friends and family.
The most AMAZING chicken quesadilla and tacos I have ever had! A small wait for such delicious food and you can usually see them cooking up fresh chicken in the outside grill, always smells amazing too!
I am a Native of L.A County, CA. Mexican food is pretty renowed here, but, with my short stay in Portland, I had the pleasure of tasting the lengua taco plate. They were incredible! I only regret not having to taste the infamous Chicken. Next time for sure.. Thank you for the recommendation.

Reasonably priced and great value for fresh food cart menu. The chicken is a must have. Parking can get dicey at times. Best to call ahead and place the order for pickup.
