Been going here for years, love it! I try to time my trips to stop at this place for lunch. Last time I was there I saw they moved the ordering to the back outside area.

Funky sandwich shop. Tried the pastrami zombie and Italian beef. Each were solid, not spectacular. The rye bread may have been the best part. Potato salad was good, but not worth five bucks good.

$13 for a sandwich you could make at home for about three dollars? Guess you’re paying $10 extra for that tiny little bag of stale chips. And as many others have noted, the staff is generally obnoxious. This place used to be better back when sandwiches were $10, seemingly just a year or two ago. They’ve gotten really full of themselves, though I’m not sure why.

Loved this place for many years, but the prices keep going up, but the quality isn’t consistent and the amount of meat you get keeps going down. The Pastrami Zombie is amazeballs when done right and worth the nearly $18 price tag, but too often lately I’ve felt like a chump when getting half the usual amount of meat and sitting around forever to have a sandwich made (even when calling ahead). I’m putting a pause on going here regular again until some of these issues are worked out. I know all businesses are having a rough go right now, so I hope they come back strong.

Gotta say not what I expect from a prepared meal. I ordered the Pastrami Zombie and had to take it apart to get all the gristly/fatty stuff out. Gross. And it was cold. Maybe I was supposed to ask for it hot but pastrami is a hot sandwich generally. The worst pastrami I've had was from the boardwalk in Hampton Beach NH. 2nd worst was this place. Not what I expect from a $16 sandwich.

Disappointed. I had the TRE sandwich and it was just like what I could’ve gotten at Subway for half the price. Very little meat in it. My husband had the Porkstrami which was better, but still expensive for the price served with a small bag of potato chips. I don’t understand why locals are so excited about this place…The service was very slow, there were only four other people in the place and our sandwiches took 40 minutes to come out

My first time at this Ashland institution - ordered the Shortstop. GREAT sandwich, friendly people, cool and funky place. Can't wait to go back!

It's such a great relaxed spot to grab a bite and a beer. I couldn't believe how insanely good the burger was. For reals

This place has a big following, judging from the traffic through the restaurant and line of folks waiting to order. (You can order ahead, though). The smoke meats in hour, make incredible pastrami and porkstrami, plus a whole collection of other sandwiches, including an amazing hot eggplant sandwich. Beer is served, outdoor seating, great, friendly service. Get your pastrami grilled, the light rye is awesome.. I'd ask for extra Russian dressing too. Don't miss this place.

Been getting sandwiches here for years, but no more. The service has become so horrible, it's not worth the misery. They don't pick-up the phone, orders are forgotten or very late--half the sandwich orders are incorrect--wrong ingredients/don't take off requested/GF bread is often stale/not heated. The sandwiches themselves are nothing special, even when made correctly. Absentee ownership and high employee turnover probably a large cause. If you're looking for a sandwich Id recommend little shop of bagels.
