Being the Memorial Day holiday, we were afraid it would be difficult to find a lunch spot without reservations. Actually the hard part was finding a parking spot; we were only behind another couple at the restaurant & were seated almost immediately. We had the choice of ordering from the (limited) breakfast menu & better lunch menu. The food portions were just right & priced reasonably. Atmosphere was really nice - spacious & decorated well. I deducted 1 star for the stair-climbing to get to the 2nd floor location
Brickroom it's just sort of the perfect place to go with friends, with your honey or even if you're on your own. Delicious and varied food choices served up so beautifully and always with the best ingredients. Excellent bar and bartenders. Fun atmosphere and lots of choices of seating. Next to the fireplace, at the bar, in the dining room or on the patio. Won't break the bank either!
We stopped in for a drink and snack, but ended up staying for dinner. The drinks were good after a day of driving. The server was very good at keeping us happy, checking in regularly though without hovering. The food was pretty good, with a few criticisms. The cheese fondue and bread were very tasty, though very small amount of cheese compared to the bread. The Flat Iron steak was well seasoned and tasted great. The temperature requested was medium rare and I got more on the well done side. It also sat on a mountain of mashed potatoes. Could easily have cut the potatoes in half and still been plenty. All in all, a very good stop for dinner and would recommend this place.
A few of us went after Superbowl. The burger was decent - not great not bad - just ok/decent. That being said we were asked to leave for being to loud. It's a freaking bar. Were we being boisterous - YES! That being said - no one was arguing - we were simply having a good time. No one got crazy and was dancing on the table or was over the top about the throw down or anything. We were simply talking. Talking loudly - yes - talking at 9:00 at night in a freaking bar - or what is supposed to be a bar. Maybe just what used to be a bar - now is a stuffy restaurant.I guess the point is - if you want a quiet restaurant (which this has never really been) then this is a good choice. If you want a bar atmosphere - or hang out place - like this has been for years/ decades pick somewhere else.
Loved the food!! Friendly and good atmosphere
I did not have a good dining experience here. I ordered the steak. Apparently no one that works their have ever hear of steak sauce. The steak dish was just steak and mashed potatoes no veggies not a complete meal. So I had to order a side of veggies. My plate of veggies came out 10 mins early getting cold. When my server noticed she took it away, when my meal came out I was given the same veggies but this time I could tell it sat under a heat lamp. Plus the veggies where not cooked well uncooked carrots. The steak came out dry from sitting out. The steak was cut right after cooking no rest. The mashes potatoes where bland, and the steak was topped with packaged onion crunch. The sauce that came with the steak was ice cold and not complimentary to the meal. I ended up paying $40 for 3 bites, and had to ask my server for a better restaurant in the area. My server was great, the restaurant no so much.
Probably my favorite breakfast place ever, but only open for breakfast Fri-Sun. I recommend Joe's Scramble (there are these crunchy mushrooms on it that are so good, and these little tiny tomato things; just the best flavor combination). And the cappuccinos are always the best (Noble coffee, which I normally don't like, but they make it so well here.). The Breakfast Burrito is also super good (it comes with this little seasoned pepper that gives it that extra kick if you want). The dinners are fantastic here, too. Great atmosphere and great staff that treat you right.
Fabulous atmosphere, terrific food for people who like *real* food, sourced locally. We had the pasta with local sausage and vegetables. It was a bit heavy on the pasta, but that's probably because most Americans seem to hate vegetables. Had the pear salad with hazelnuts and the spicy green beans. Really delish! It was super busy. Be prepared for a wait.
Delicious pasta. Friendly, casual environment.
Chic vibes with a great decor and R&B tunes. Menu is via QR code; I miss the luxury of sifting through the drink selections while chatting with friends instead of focusing on my phone, but I understand the cleanliness aspect. The Lo-fidelity drink was delicious, and our service was fantastic. Always a go-to for late evenings in Ashland.
