Well I’ll start off by apologizing because I have no pictures to post…but that’s because everything was SOOOOOOOOO incredibly amazing, we forgot to take pics!! And, isn’t that what you want when you want out of a restaurant experience? So back to our dinner. The night started off when we were greeted by one of the staff. He was friendly and helpful - especially considering we were from out of town and SUPER early to our reservations. He pointed us in a couple directions to keep ourselves busy until we could come back. Perfect!Fast forward to dinner reservations and we were lucky to have the same person help us. I don’t remember his name, but he was seriously the best!! From drink recommendations/pairings to answering questions about dinner selections he was absolutely amazing!Which brings me to the food. WOW. I mean seriously, WOW. We had a crab appetizer, a steak and salmon entree, and to top it off we had a crème brûlée for desert. I’ll say it again, WOW. All courses were perfectly seasoned/balanced. I would not change a thing!!!Seriously, there wasn’t any part of our dinner experience we didn’t appreciate tonight. If you haven’t tried this restaurant, you are missing out!!Thank you again for such an amazing experience Sybaris Bistro!! We hope to visit again soon!
Well, where to startService are lovely, I can see worker are trying their best to provide good service to us, no doubt about it. I love it. I appreciate their attitude that taking care of our ice cream because they run out of the special appetizer.Alcohol is really great, I’m sure if they open a bar would be a lot of ppl coming for it. No doubt for their drinks.Appetizer are absolutely disappointed, price are not expensive, around 10$ for each but did not reach what I expect, I mean their appetizer is creative but … anyhowEntrees are exactly as what I expected, about average on this price.Dessert are great, not really sweet and I believe the ice cream is hand made Anyway, I will give 3 star not because how much I hate it, just base on the taste of the food I just think they can do better I guess.
Another excellent meal at Sybaris. My husband and I had the 'Irish Toad in the Hole', which was the most marvelous take on bangers and mash, involving a Dutch baby pancake, house made sausage, Guinness gravy, and peas porridge. My description doesn't do it justice. It was fantastic! My mother in law had butter roasted halibut, and raved about her meal. A starter of spinach-artichoke-red pepper dip was the perfect option to share. The chocolate chip, mint creme brulee was the perfect end to a perfect meal. And the service, as always, was perfection. Jessie (our server) makes everyone feel like the most important person in the room. It's a genuine treat and pleasure to dine at Sybaris.
It truly doesn't get any better! The menu changes frequently and everything on it is delicious. This chef really knows what he's doing. Every course builds on the one before and is delicious, and the recommended wine pairings are spot on.
Absolutely delicious...all dishes were "to perfection". My husband and i just experienced the Valentine's Day special. Our stomachs are so satisfied with the first three courses that dessert will have to wait until later. We can not say enough about how tender the tenderloin in the Wellington was...and large pieces of Maine lobster...and very flakey crust. Everything was super. It was so nice and relaxing to experience a meal of this level while being in the comfort of our home with a crackling fire in the background.
My wife and I went on a very rare date (young kiddos) on 2/15/2022. Because of the rarity we're very particular and sensitive on what a "good" restaurant is. We ended up here, by chance, and it was very good luck indeed, because we came to find out that this is the best restaurant in Albany, Oregon (or really anywhere I've been in years). It is hands down better than any place in Corvallis or Salem. This establishment is a jem.The staff was very accomodating, we booked a reservation last minute and we were able to get a table in 30 minutes. Which gave us the perfect excuse to mill around town and decompress from our busy lives. There were even able to seat us early.Once we entered we noticed the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The music and decorations were charming, enough so that if I had the time I would have been happy to remain and hang out just for the atmosphere alone. The food was absolutely amazing. There's magic going on there because wow. I can't emphasize this enough: the chef was the a credit to all chefs everywhere, and If I was filthy rich, I'd hire this person as my personal chef. Please try the Sturgeon, if it's still on the menu. My wife had the rockfish and loved it.Our waiter, and I apologize because I can't remember his name, was kind, and welcoming. And he was a ninja with the water because my glass was alway full: I took a drink and looked away and it was full again: if I was a desert nomad I would have been in heaven. He was the perfect level of charming and available, and yet unobtrusive. My wife and I will be back and I believe we've found our new go-to restaurant in the next rare instance of a night out.Thank you Sybaris staff for your hospitality and delicious food and wonderful experience. And it gave us a wonderful date night, and a lasting good memory.
Had dinner there last week for the first time. Took a friend for her birthday. We had an exquisite dining experience! Service was so good, food was incredible. Had the chocolate hazelnut cake for dessert. It was sublime. I can’t wait to go back‼️
Amazing drinks, appetizers & wait staff. Would not recommend for anything more than that. Almost 2hrs at the restaurant, food service from kitchen was very slow, food did not taste great, steak had burnt taste, horseradish mashed potatoes AMAZING, & sea bass was very very fishy tasting, yes I get it was fish but there is a difference between fresh an something that tasted like it sat in the hot sun all day.
Chef Matt Bennett has an incredible creative mind for creating and finding recipes. Janel Ackerman Bennett and her front of house staff are the best I have seen. just left a New Years Eve dinner, a packed house, that was run with precision and generous smiles behind the masks. a great and welcoming place to be.
We love this restaurant and chef Matt does unusual and marvelous things with local food. Great servers make the whole experience A+.
