FANTASTIC BUSINESS! Not only do they make great sammiches consistently, but they absolutely saved our entire office lunch plans on short notice and got everything perfect!!!The manager is awesome, the staff helpful and friendly, and the food is always good!Highly recommend Big Town Hero in the Mall!
You'll notice that the only negative reviews are from people who refused to wear a mask. Restaurants have no choice or say in the states mask mandates, they have to follow or receive steep fines. I get it, we are all sick of wearing masks, but that's no reason to slam a business with fake bad reviews. We like the sandwiches here. Prefer their bread to subways. Wish we had one in my town, but enjoy stopping in when in the area.
Visiting the Albany area and ran into this extremely rude blue haired employee / owner? She stated we must have masks to order food.. I completely agree that businesses should have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. However yelling "Later" loudly in a sorry attempt to make a scene is a pathetic way of making a political statement. I hope she can make rent at the mall after waiting from the food court she successfully ran approximately 18 possible customers off because of her strong views. FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO EAT IF YOU BELIEVE IF FREEDOM!After this interaction my family ate at No Boloney Sandwich shop across the street. Amazing food and service at no Boloney!!
My favorite place to get sandwiches in town. The bread is the star of the show absolutely amazing taste and texture and the ingredients are perfectly portioned. Lunchtime!
My partner and I have been going to this Big Town Hero location for YEARS, the owners and staff are ALWAYS friendly & professional. I can't believe some of the reviews that are pouting about having to follow local business policies. If you are out and about in Albany, you should have a mask on you to put on to RESPECT said business policy. Don't leave a review crying because they have policies you don't like. Pathetic.That being said, Big Town Hero in the Heritage Mall is well run. They are always busy but never make us feel rushed. Our order has never been incorrect and it's always out quickly which we appreciate. We greatly appreciate them following their health codes and mask mandates, keeping me and my family safe during these times.
They refused to wait on us …..A maskless shopping event for maskless shopping …Every Friday we’ve eaten over there during Covid when they’ve been open this will not happen ever again I will not eat over there .Shame on you BIG TOWN HERO (Heritage Mall Albany Oregon )who made you the masks police…It’s about freedom it’s about our freedom and our freedom of choice… The mall was full of Meskel shoppers and she turned away about 30 of us that’s a lot of money For a lunch hour. In my opinion you made a big mistake…. The best advertisement you can get in the world that’s what you just did that’s the wrong kind of advertisement.
Terrible terrible customer service. Why is it people think covid only exists when you are not seated?? I will never go to this business again. And we USED TO BE good customers. Too bad it looks like this location has changed hands. Good luck keeping your business open with people who MIGHT come to the mall. Those same mask lovers are not the ones who are willing to “risk” their lives going out in public often.
The owners of this location, specifically the woman, is EXTREMELY rude. They must be making a ton of money, because they chose to refuse service to 30 maskless shoppers today. She then proceeded to call security to request that the shoppers be trespassed from the mall entirely. It is a business's right to refuse service. It is also our right to share negative experiences and to take our money elsewhere. Please support businesses that support freedom. This business does not.With that said, Big Town Hero has great food. It is also a franchise. THIS location's poor service and decisions should not be a reflection on ALL Big Town Hero locations. If you want a Big Town sub, choose a location other than Albany.The photo is her phoning security.
What a joke of an establishment. HORRIBLE customer service by not only staff but owners as well.This big town hero is absolutely a joke! The customer service is beyond awful. I called due to my spouse having a horrible experience and was told by one of the owners “I don’t have time for this” and then hung up. He refused to provide his name and would not provide any contact information upon request. Will not ever go to this location based on how they treat customers and especially by an owner!My spouse did not intend to grab lunch but stopped in real quick and forgot his mask in the car. Once told he needed to have one he pulled his hoodie over his face. The extremely rude employee (the lady with purple hair) then told him that wouldn’t work. So she then BARE HANDED gave him mask, he declined due to not knowing where her hands had been and not allowing him to grab it. She then told him and my daughter they had to leave and pointed at security to escort them out.I will never support this establishment based on how they treat people.
They are always very kind to me, especially the sweet man who wears a black ball cap. Their tomato bisque is amazing, ans even better when they have bread bowls.I respect their stances on wearing masks, and applaud them for sticking to their policies as many in this area do not.
